Model :x 3519 right pedal stripped

If it is the pedal's threads that are stripped just purchase a new pair. If it is the threads on the crank that the pedal goes into then either replace the crank arm if it's the left side or find a bike shop that can install a "Helicoil" to repair the crank. Threads will be stronger than the original

I have a Bissell Total Floor vacuum. The handle release pedal broke so now the...

If your Bissell upright vacuum cleaner is not cleaning like it did when it was new, then you need to provide a bit of maintenance or service. I will tell you how you can do this maintenance to your Bissell vacuum.

First, make sure that your floor vacuum is unplugged. Then you can work safely on your Bissell bagless vacuum.

If your Bissell upright vacuum is losing suction, then the next thing to check is the canister. It is very easy to simply forget to dump the canister.
The while you have the canister out, check the filter inside the canister to make sure that it is not plugged full of dirt. This filter can be difficult to access, but a little persistence will pay off. When you get the bottom of the cup open and remove the filter, use a bit of soapy water to wash out the filter. You can then reassemble the filter into the bottom of the canister.

On the left side of the vacuum there is also a HEPA filter Bissell has there to help filter the air even more. Remove that, clean it also and replace it.

The hose is the next thing to check. You can completely detach the hose from the vacuum. Check the hole at the bottom where the hose hooks up to make sure the hole is not plugged. Then stretch out the hose and run something like a coat hanger through it to make sure that there are no obstructions inside the hose. You should be able to hold the hose up to a light and see right through it.

The last thing to check is your Bissell vacuum belt. If the belt is too loose it will slip and not spin the brush properly. Bissell belts can be purchased online easily, or in many grocery stores. If your Bissell upright cleaner has a slipping belt, it may also be because of strings, carpet pieces, etc… getting wrapped around the brush. Remove the vacuum brush and cut off everything that is wrapped around it. Always be careful of the vacuum belt after you have just used your vacuum. The belt will be very hot just after use.

These steps will help you to get your Bissell upright vacuum cleaner working like new again.

There are no threads on the crank arm to screw a pedal on. What do you do now?

1. replace the crank.
2. Purchase a Heli-Coil or other brand at an auto store. It looks like a tube with threads on both sides that will screw in to the stripped hole and there by install new threads. Bring the pedal to the auto store to make sure it will thread in to the "female" threads on the Heli-coil.

The problem is the pedal is steel and the crank arm is soft aluminum. Also, people damage them because one pedal is normal thread and the other is reverse thread meaning you turn clockwise to loosen.

Stripped bicycle pedal

Better replace the pedal and most probably the crank arm as well. Sometimes a new pedal can cut the threads true again on the crank arm but the crank arm may need replacement too, depending on the damage. Remember to fit the correct side pedal. The pedal threads differ between left and right and pedals are usually marked "L" or "R".

We have a plastic peice that connects the the wheel and the peddals that has broke. How can I order this peice?

Hi leftee44

This sounds like the crank arm, which can also be metal.

The crank arm links the pedals to the front derailleur and large cogs, which, in turn, turn the chain and rear derailleur and rear cogs attached to the rear wheel.

You may have to replace the pedal as well in case any damage was done to the thread of the pedal when it broke.

When attaching and screwing crank arms and pedals in place, care must be taken to turn left and right crank pedals in the correct opposing direction so as not to dethread the the crank or the pedal.

Crank arms and pedals are standard universal fittings on most bicycles and can be bought at most cycle and cycle accessories shops or website such as (click here):

I hope this helps.

Pedal threads r stripped . How do I remove the crank to replace it?

You might decide to get ther threads repaired. Sometimes just a new pedal ( with a little longer thread) will tighten up just fine. Realise that theirs a left and right pedal and if you try to put them on the wrong side you'll have problems. If the right side is the only one that's damaged you can have ( or do it yourself) a thread insert installed. If it can be repaired this way it'll be alot cheaper than crank replacement. The bike needs to be valuable to warrent replacing the crank as you can get to the value of the bike quickly doing a crank repair. ( if it's a cheap ( wally world) bike you just need to go on down to wally world and get another bike. I'd chack to see if you can get the parts to fix the bike before i'd take it apart. Most machine shops will fix the threads without taking any thing apart. Get you some good pedals and just have a welder tack weld them so they'll stay on. and ride on.

The pedal assembly on my blackwater somehow got stripped always had problem with pedals coming off

If the thread on the crank arms that hold the pedals are stripped, you will need a new set of cranks. That is definitely a job for the bike shop. Make sure the pedals are snug in the arm, Right side pedal has right-hand thread, left side (looking down when you are on the bike) has a left-hand (reverse!) thread.

Left pedal broke can i get replacement?

All depends on if you stripped the crank arm, you may have to replace your crank arm if you rode with a loose pedal. Pedals are sold in pairs, and there are 2 sizes, a one piece crank is 1/2" and 3 piece crank is 9/16", take your bike to the bike shop and they will tell you if you need a new crank arm or not. It will do no good to just replace your pedal if there is a bad crank arm thread, it will not hold.

I want to replace the main sprocket with a bigger

you need to pull the pedal off on the side that the crank is on the pedal will thread off like a bolt but the threads are reverse on the pedal once you have the pedal off you will have to unscrew the two nuts that hold the crank in the frame of the bike the inner nut is easiest to get off with a flathead screw driver once you have those two out you can pull the crank out of the frame and then you may want to put it in a vice because the crank will turn off the pedal unit but you usually have to pry up on the crank a little to get the alignment pin out of the crank enough to turn it

My bicycle pedal is stripped and I can't get one on. How do I fix this? Thanx

Depending on left or right you will first need a crank puller to remove the crank in order to replace it. You will be better off taking it to a bicycle repair shop. Cranks usually only come in sets but the shop may have a spare or they might be able to order you a seperate one. The same applies for pedals. If the threads in the crank are not too damaged you might just need a new set of pedals or one replacement. Hope this helps.
