The following appears on the screen last two weeks ago "CHKOF1FO OOOOOOOO. WHAT IS THE PROBLEM AND SOLUTION.My model is PT-51HX40B.

  • mynithia Nov 11, 2008

My tv has the same problem. Except now it flashes different codes and will not exit "aging" mode. It pops up the tv menu randomly and goes into other parts of the menu without prompting from the remote. It also exits whatever video mode I'm in (if in component 1 it switches to video 1, etc.) and will also try to change the channel of the tv randomly. Lastly, it shuts the tv off on occassion. I tried the solution but after 1 hr or so, the problem keeps coming back. Please help

'tab' button doesn't work on Motorola MC3190

You get 3 different keypad models of the Motorola MC3190:
- 28 Key Numeric
- 38 Key Shifted Alpha
- 48 Key Alpha Numeric

So depending on the type of keyboard your model has, using TAB are different across these 3 keypads.

Please Note: Keypad functions can be changed by an application so the mobile computer keypad may not function as described.

When the FUNC button is pressed the icon "F" appears on the taskbar on WinCE devices or the icon "Blue Circle" appears at the bottom of the screen on Windows Mobile 6.1 devices.

In order to use the TAB function, do the following:

28 Key Numeric - Press the blue FUNC button (Bottom right next to Power button), and press the RIGHT ARROW button.

38 Key Shifted Alpha - Press the blue FUNC button (Right side below RIGHT ARROW button), and press the RIGHT ARROW button.

48 Key Alpha Numeric - Press the blue FUNC button (Right side below ENTER button) and press the number 9 button.

How do you enter fractions into the ti-84 plus?

It depends on the version of the Operating system.
This works for Older and newer OS
Enter numerator, press the [division key], enter the denominator, press the [MATH] key and select [1:ToFrac] [ENTER]
With the newer OS versions 2.53 MP and following you can manipulate fraction more easily. If your calculator MODE is set to MathPrint, you can use the [Alpha][Function keys] to access some functionalities
This gives you access to the Tabs shown in the following screen capture.
Press 1:n/d for improper fractions or 2:Un/d for mixed numbers.
Press [ALPHA][Y=/F1] to activate the FRAC menu. You get a template for a stacked fraction, where you enter the numerator and denominator at their right places. Note that fractions are always reduced to their simplest forms.

In the programs I have made when I use the Request enter a integer, I always have to press the alpha button before entering a # in the field when running the program, is their a way to program a request...

The syntax of the command is as follows
:Request Message, VarName
where Message is a character string containing the message that will be displayed as a prompt, and VarName is the name of the string variable where the input will be stored.
If you want to input a numerical value you must convert it from character string to a numerical value (I know, it is like splitting hair but string 123456 is not the same as number 123456)
You convert from string to numerical value with the expr() command.
:Request "Value of a? ", s
:expr(s) --> a

That should do it.

Hope it helps.

When I turned on my 48gx a month ago some of the alpha keys did not work. Today most of the keys(alpha, numeric as well as functions) don't work. I've owned this unit for over 7 years and have barley used...

Before thinking of repairs, you should first determine if it needs repairs.
You can reset the calculator:

Turn the back of the calculator towards you. Extract the top left rubber pad on the back of the calculator and use a paper clip to press the Reset button. If that does not restore the calculator to health, you should perform the dagnostic tests.

The following procedure valid for the 48G should work for the HP48GX.
Make the calculator perform a
Self test.
  1. Turn calculator on
  2. Press and HOLD the key [ON]
  3. Press and release the key with "E" to its right (the one before last in first row)
  4. Relaese the [ON] key.
It tests the RAM and ROM. You will see various patterns on screen. Afterwards you should see
The self test will continue repeatedly until you perform a
System Halt
  1. Press and HOLD the [ON] key
  2. Press and release the "C" key
  3. Release the [ON] key.
The empty stack should appear.

If you do not see IROM OK and IRAM OK, the calculator requires service.

If the above procedure is successful, you may want
to test the keyboard.
  1. Turn calculator on
  2. Press and HOLD the [ON] key
  3. Press and release the "D" key.
  4. Release the [ON] key
  5. Press and release the "E" key. KBD 1 should appear on the top left corner of the screen.
  6. Starting at the upper left corner of the keyboard, and moving Left to right, press every key in sequence. If you follow the sequence and the keys are functioning properly you should hear a hight pitch sound at each press.
  7. If everything is OK, when you press the last key (+) the screen displays KBD 1 OK.
To exit the keyboard test proceed as described above under System Halt.

If you follow the proper sequence and a hexadecimal number appears after pressing a key, the calculator requires service.
Hope it helps.

Help please stuck in service menu

You should have purchaced the service manual before you went into the sevice mode, as the service mode is a dangerous place to be if you do not know anything about it. You can get the service manual from for about 20 bucks or so. A lot less expensive then a serviuce call I would think.
