The power button on the tv is broken and i lost the remote

You can just try programming the remote with the Sharp codes they list in the instructions until you find the one that works. Follow the procedure for entering a code and try it. When you find the right one it will turn the set on when you hit the power button. The remote's instructions tell you to turn the set on to make finding the code easier (when the set shuts off you know you found the right one), but you can work without it.

How to Auto tune remote control for 1993 Magnavox

try these codes: 1454*,0054,0030,0706,1963,1944,1254,0747,1454,0802,0386,0230,0187,0186,0179,0096,0036,0028,0024,0020

with this remote, press tv, then setup waiting for lcd (if there is one to flash twice. enter code. try to shut off tv. then turn it on and then back on hoping you have the right code. I have a 1993 magnavox and i am going to go through the codes again. 1454 worked the best but not everything. Good luck.
ps-i do not have a universal but a one from so i am going there next. The booklet has hundreds for tvs, vcr, dvds.

Volume controls dont work when using remote

I would start by trying other codes on the universal remote. Sometimes codes will only work part of the remote such as the numbers or channels but not volume. Your motorola cable remote sounds like it may only need a good cleaning. sometimes when you take remotes apart it will look like somthing got spilt in it. I would start there first.

No response from remote

Check whether the remote control is working properly or not by using remote checker. Even if it is the universal remote control you have to set the code for the particular model. Otherwise it will not work.

Panasonic TV repair

here is a way to make sure that your remote is working or not. get a radio that has am band on it. turn the radio to am band..any band..then aim the remote at it and push any button..if the remote is working, then you will be able to see noise coming from the radio. if not, the remote is not working. open it and check it. check the battaries. then check the emitting doide for lose connection. or try to clean the baord in there with denatured alcohol. good luck
