Question about HP OfficeJet Pro K8600 Printer

Open Question

Unable to print from Excel sheet on HP K8600

Our users have gotten around this by converting the file to a PDF and then printing that. Another work-around was to reset the page area.
But both are workarounds.... and there are times when printing via Excel will work.

Spoken to HP and they will not help as they advise it is a Excel issue. But have given me the number for "Smart Friend" and they will charge £20 and refund if they can fix the issue.

I think this is driver related...... as this affect a few users on various Windows XP and Office service packs.

How can I save Excel as PDF without MS office?

You can download a PDF ‘printer’
It is a piece of software that installs like a printer driver. So when you want to print a PDF you just print it through a PDF printer and it will prompt you to save it as a PDF file
I use Bullzip PDF Printer, but you can google others.

What software do I need to convert word, jpg and other files to PDF format?

The easiest way I've found is to use CutePDF. It installs itself as a virtual printer, only when you "print" to it, you get a PDF document output. Download it for free here http://www.cutepdf.com/products/cutepdf/writer.asp

When i print a PDFdocument made as an excel sheet , i mean with chart ,all that's writed inside is not printed. On Printed sheet you can just see an empty schedule. thanks

Why not convert the PDF to Excel and then print the Excel Spreadsheet? Nearly everybody know how to use excel and print the contents.
You can try AnyBizSoft PDF to Excel Converter which can help you transfer the tables of PDF into Excel as the original format. All the charts and data will be preserved.
Have a try and hope it helps.

Bizhub 250 slow to print files

When you ask to print the page are you asking for more the one copy? If you are there is a collate check button next to the requested sets box, in the print dialog box. Make sure its not check. Collating the print means your PC sends a copy of the file for each requested copy. IE: you print one page and ask for six copies, your PC sends the file six times, one copy of the file for each print requested.

Also because your printing from a windows application IE: Excel you should be using the PCL print driver as apposed to a PostScript print driver. The time it takes to convert the file into PostScript for the printer to process it is time consuming.

Printing black squares in word.doc

It sounds like this is an HP driver issue. HP drivers have built-in "optimizations" (that unfortunately have bugs) for things like printing photos. Different programs (word, for example) try to take advantage of these optimizations in different ways. When they work, they give superior photo printing (faster, with more accurate color). When they don't, you get black squares. This is why "converting" it to PDF worked for you -- Word printed it through the PDF driver instead of the HP printer driver, then when you printed the PDF file, that program avoided those optimizations when it sent the images to the printer. Unfortunately, the translation caused quality loss. If your goal was to print out something like a "proof-sheet" of photos, you might try the free photo organizer at www.preclick.com. It will print these for you, captions and everything, and should be able to avoid the driver issues.
