Once connected, with a Samsung TV, you need to press the SOURCE button on the TV remote control to view any external sources such as your DVD player.

The ‘NO SIGNAL’ message would indicate there is no signal, if you have not tuned your channels in, this may be the digital tuner you are viewing. Press the source button whilst a DVD is playing in the DVD and see if an image displays.

I have a panosonic plasma 42 inch tv. After a storm all I get when I turn it on is black and white static but all the menus display fine

Look to see if the rear video/audio inputs work (DVD etc) and if they do the damage is at the tuner in the set (nearby lightening can discharge into the cable or wires for signal.)

If using a box (cable or satellite) it may have took the hit.

A good idea if lightening storm is to not only unplug set (static discharge can come in via the power cord also) but disconnect signal source from set.

I have in extreme cases seen a nearby strike get in via the power lines and destroy almost every appliance plugged in even if not on.

Spot of bad weather here, just had a power surge in the house and now our tv (sharp lc-42SB48UT) won't power on. There is no blue or red light on the front and changing outlets/surge protectors doesn't...

90% to 95% ur tv have a dead power supply board only.5% ur tv could have both dead boards the tv power supply board and the main tv Tuner signal board too.The tv power supply board. That the board, where the power a/c cord plug into it.The tv main Tuner signal board, that the board where all the exstented devices and the tv incomming broadcasting signal cable wire plug into it.Tries websites like Shopjimmy.com,Ebay.com to buy a whole refurbish power supply board for the replacement first. The tv problems should be fixed. If not than the main tv Tuner signal board is dead too.Must be replaced also.

My 42 inch Samsung LCD tv displays 'No signal' when i power it on even when the DVD cord is attached to it. The remote also does not work.

The problem seems to point to the Main bd. All of the input connectors are mounted on it.
The IR sensor is also connected to and controlled by the Main bd. Have a trained Samsung tech repair your set.

I turn on the tv and it has a blue screen and no

Just try to reset so picture will back to normal again, some LCD TVs have a reset button. If available and accessible, try using the reset buttons before using the steps below. Using the reset buttons can save time.
1. Unplug the LCD TV power cord from the power outlet.
2. Unplug any connected devices (DVD, Set-top boxes, etc...)
3. Press and hold the LCD TV power button for five seconds.
4. Plug the LCD TV power cord back into the power outlet and turn on the TV.
5. Open the on-screen menu to confirm that the LCD TV is responding again.
6. Turn off the LCD TV and reconnect the devices.
7. Turn on the LCD TV.

Hope it may help you;

Need vizio code for Samsung remote!!

I have a 37 inch vizio and had the same problem. After a little web research, I came across a suggestion that the LG codes might work. I tried it and found that the code 19 worked. You might try that. If 19 doesn't work for you, one of the other LG codes might (they are 06, 21, 22, 23 or 78).

Samsung hpr4252x perfect picture in

You have a burn in problem from watching widescreen movies. If you have access to a signal generator or tv setup disc run a perfectly white screen on the plasma for about 30 min. This should help even out the pixels on the display.
