Re: need to replace power plug in,what is the best way to...

Ebay is full of replacement power jacks for laptops. But you need to find a competent electronics tech with a good, fine, temperature controlled soldering station.. Ya dont want to get out the big old soldering gun and have at it yourself.. unless you can afford to really mess up your laptop's board..

To the best of my knowledge most Linux distributions does not have internet explorer thus you need to use the following command to install it:

1. Open a terminal window:
2. copy and paste the following command.

$ wget
$ tar -zxvf ies4linux-latest.tar.gz
$ cd ies4linux-*
$ ./ies4linux

Most distributions have fire fox built into them thus you can download it directly.

I hope this was Very Helpful, please od reply if you have any questions and update me with the version of linux and the distribution if you need further help.

Thanks for using

Unless you have sentimental attachment to that PC , you may want to look into upgrading.

All the spare part vendors want lots of money for a replacement.

Your best bet would be ebay. They have a couple listed for $13 to $34 + shipping.

Where is on/off button

The power button is on the left side of the machine just behind the speaker - There is also a sliding flap that covers the power button you have to slide towards the rear of the machine to expose the power switch.
