Re: "Not supported Mode" message

The above information about setting everything to 1080i does work, though you may need a call into your cable/FIOS office. I thought I had everything set, but it still wouldn't work. I have Verizon FIOS and my HD channels were working just fine, but the normal alspect channels were not. It kept saying unsupported mode. I set everything I could on both the TV and the DVR/settop box to 1080i, it still wouldn't work. A call to Verizon found that the 4:3 override was set to 480i though -- this was burried deep inthe menus. If you have a Verizon Motorola DVR or HD box, here's how to change it. From the front controls of the set top box, power it on, then off. Immediately press SETUP and SETUP again. that should bring up a very user unfriendly menu with codes D1 .... D20, etc. Choose D12 (User settings). This displays the user settings and you probably shoudl see 16:9, but check the 4:30 override. It should be OFF. If it is not, press POWER and then press MENU once. The set top box should display 16:9 and then open the previous D12 screen in EDIT mode. Using the cursor keys on your remote, scroll down to the 4:30 override. Set it to off. Then press POWER to save. Power back on and the normal aspect channels will now work. Good luck.

Re: "Not supported Mode" message

Hook up the component cables on the tv and the dtv box
go to set up on the menu select HDTV or display and deselect all of the 480i and 480p and in some cases also the 720 and only select 1080i to be display. you can then hook up your hdmi cable again and it shoud be supported. Let me know if that works.

Panasonic TV's after 1996 can be set to "Serviceman Mode" with the
following remote control sequence:

-select the SET-UP icon and select CABLE mode.
-select the TIMER icon and set the SLEEP timer for 30 minutes.
-press the ACTION button twice to get out of the menus.
-change to channel 124.
-adjust the volume to minimum (0).
-Hit the VOL down button on the TV itself (not on
the remote) and a red "CHK" should appear in the upper corner.
-press the ACTION and VOLUME DOWN buttons (again, on the
TV, not the remote) you will toggle between AGING and SERVICEMAN modes.

Select Serviceman mode. The POWER button on the remote control will
select one of the five Serviceman Adjustment modes.

The modes are:

B - Serviceman VCJ SUB Adjustments. These include sub-tint,
sub-color, sub-brightness, sub-contrast, colorkiller/ABL/gamma,
audio and video adjustment, and vertical size.

C - Serviceman VCJ Cut-off adjustments. These include Red, Green
and Blue cut-off, red and blue drive, automatic fine tuning
(AFT), RF AGC (RF gain control), horizontal center, beam limit,

S - Serviceman Options Adjustments. These involce the PIP and

M - Serviceman MTS (Stereo/SAP) adjustments.

CHK - the mode you first entered. Normal picture and sound, lets
you check things over and still have a hotkey into the
service menu.

There is one more adjustment that isn't in the five modes, it's
global. When in either the yellow or red CHK mode, you can press
RECALL on the remote control to enter the purity field check mode.
This lets you select a pure white, red, green, or blue screen. A
good thing to walk away from if you just want to temporarily freak
out the floor manager, but it will be fixed as soon as the TV is
turned off. Oh well.

To get out of Serviceman mode, press ACTION and POWER on the
receiver simultaneously for at least 2 seconds. The TV will momentarily
shut off and then comes back on.

Deep sleep mode on digital tv

We turn off the TV. Turned it back on using the tv turner remote that comes with the set, we push the HDMI1 mode button immediately! Must do before it goes to Deep Sleep mode. You should not use RGB mode as this will cause the problem to repeat. (Vizo HD 50") Keep trying if doesn't work the first time. You have to be ready and quick to get the mode HDMI1.

hi there, i have the LG 50in Plasma and just updated the channel connection by doing the following:

1. Make sure your remote is in "TV" mode.
1. Press the Menu button.
2. Highlight "Auto-program" (Should be the first item on the Menu)
3. Scroll over to "To Start" and press OK.

The TV will automatically search for all available analogue, digital and HD signals and may take a few minutes.
Once complete, it will return to the last program you were on and you will find all channels available.

To check the guide or the time, you need to press the "guide" button. Make sure your remote is in "TV" mode. Alternatively, pressing OK at any time shows you the time and channel that you are on.

Hope that helps!
