GE Profile wall oven couldnt find book whats code mean F4

My GE Profile JBP79 (unknown age) suddenly started flashing F4 when trying to use oven or broiler. Read solutions and spent $43 on an oven sensor and replaced it. Apparently this is not the problem, when plugged back in, it still continues to display F4 and beeps. Any other suggestions?

F4 is the code for a shorted temperature sensor.
You would need to check it with an ohm meter to be sure, but most likely the sensor has failed and will have to be replaced.
Post back if you have any questions.

Oven wont light gaves F4

Hi, the F4 error code means Open or shorted oven temperature sensor (RTD)..
Check sensor harness and harness connection between oven sensor and oven control. Replace oven temperature sensor (RTD) if wiring is ok.

GE Profile Convection Problem

with GE
SHORTED OVEN SENSOR CIRCUIT
if your comfortable taking the range out of the box, it is a pretty easy repair. The oven sensor is a small tube in the range that "sences" temp.
although it could be the erc, its more than likely the sonsor itself.
it is on the back wall and has to be unplugged from the back to be removed
there are two screws that hold it on the back wall
put the new one in and you should be ready to go
goto appliancepartspros.com
type in your modle number and look in the cavity section
your looking for the oven sensor
they usually run around 20-30 dollars

Ge profile wall oven - f7 but I fix with eraser trick - now the clock can't be reset and the 4 does not always work on the keypad

F7 stuck keypad
Stuck keypad may mean relay is turned on.
Determine if problem is with the Key Panel or Control by:
1. Pushing CLEAR/OFF pad.
2. Disconnecting Ribbon Cable from control and waiting at least 32 seconds to see if Code recurs

If code recurs, problem is in the control. Replace control.

If code does not recur, problem is with the Key Panel.

Ge oven codes

F2 means your oven temp got too high. At least, that's what the control boards thinks. More than likely you have a bad oven sensor or bad wire to it or a bad connection somewhere between the board and sensor.
