The lights for normal, heavy and pots and pans do not come on. It is getting power. Light wash works ok but not consistently for a family of 4.
This is ordinarily a problem with the touchpad. Can you give me the specific model number of yours (ordinarily on a sticker on the inside edge of the door or on the door opening)?
Testimonial: "Model number: 3380376"
Model number 3380376
That actually isn't the model number - it should begin with "DU1100xxxx" or a similar number. At any rate, I would like you to try to reset your machine by pressing some buttons depending on your actual model. You should either have "Sani-Wash" or "Normal Wash" and "Heated Dry" buttons. Try pushing "Normal Wash - Heated Dry - Normal Wash - Heated Dry - Normal Wash - Heated Dry". All of the panel lights should come on for a few moments as the machine does a diagnostic and then resets. If the lights stay on for longer than a minute or so, press cancel. Please let me know what happens.
Sorry I found the model number. It's DUL200PKQ1. The cycle options are Rinse only; Light wash; Normal wash; and Heavy Wash; the options are: Hi temp scour; Sani Rinse; and Air Dry. Based on your suggestion above, I pushed Normal wash - Air Dry three times. The dishwasher would turn on when I pushed Air Dry, but turn off when I pushed Normal wash. No other lights would come on.
If you have not already tried other combinations, please try pushing "Sani-Rinse - Air Dry" 3 times. If the lights do not all come on, I'm afraid the issue is a defective Control Console. Unfortunately, that part has been discontinued by Whirlpool and is no longer made. I did find one part for sale from an Amazon supplier but for the price they want ($177), I'm not sure the machine should be salvaged unless you're very fond of it. I wish I had better news for you.
