Question about PNY GeForce 8400 GS, PCI Video Card
Currently have a dimensions 5000 with memory up grade to 2gb but these machines only run on 305w looked at several different graphics cards but all need at least 350w. Geforce 8400 seems to run on lower power but still says 350 to 400 w depending on make! Looked at Radeon 2400 which says only 300w and discover on this site it might need more especially if it is 512 and not 256.
It's a common problem with people wanting to customize Dell Dimension PCs. They are a great basic PC but weren't designed to be completely tricked out. The layout for the power supply is a bit different in most of their cases and to upgrade the power supply you usually have to physically alter the case =\ There are afew video cards that have a lower draw, but I'm not sure if they are going to be that great of an upgrade.
