    Thank you for clarifying.

There are three steps that can be taken to try to solve the dusty density sensor error. Please take the following steps in order. Click on the links for step-by-step instructions and follow carefully:

    1. Clean the density sensor

    2. Replace the transfer roller (video available)

    3. Turn the printer off, wait 30 seconds and turn the power back on

A step or a combination of the steps above should solve the error.

    Best regards

Sc390

SC390 = Toner Density Sensor abormality

Possible causes:

  • Poor concentration of developer
  • Toner density sensor faulty

Are the prints/copies coming out ok? If the copies are very faint or heavily overtoned then changing the developer may cure the error code. If the copies look OK then you probably need to get the toner density sensor replaced by an engineer.

Hope this helps.

994 service density sensor

The 994 Density Error indicates that the printer's system card has encountered an unrecoverable error. The 994 Density Error can be caused by the density sensor becoming dislodged from the sensor board. This normally requires a service call. However, for basic troubleshooting, try powering the printer off, wait ten seconds, and then power the printer back on. If still no go, if possible, connect the printer's power cord directly into a grounded wall outlet. In rare instances, a surge protector or uninterruptible power supply (UPS) can generate false error messages. If problem persists, I strongly recommend contacting your Authorized Service Provider or Lexmark Technical Support for assistance. I hope I can assist you more on this.

there is a sensor in the drum unit that measures/sensors toner density on the drum. the sensor is usually dirty and needs a clean. there could be a number of causes so a technician needs to be called.

I HAVE IR3300 IF I USE THE AUTO DENSITY THE COPY IS GOOD AND CLEAN BACKGROUND IF I MAKE AN ADJUSTMENT TO DENSITY LEVEL THE COPY HAS A DARK BKGROUND, TO BAD ,THATS WHY I ALWAYS USE AUTO DEN.

when the drum starts to get old these type of things can happen. It may be that it just needs to be cleaned if it has been a while or if it's in dusty environment.

CDT Calibration Error

CTD (not CDT) stands for Color Toner Density Error. Your bad sensor is not on the printer, but on one of the color toners.
