Question about Yamaha RX-V450 Receiver
I've the amp for 3 years, it just suddenly stop functioning.
At first i thought it's just on standby but the even when i switched off the main switch and then back on, nothing happens.
Not sure if the fuse is blown.
Hallo,my name is Peppe and I am an italian technician (Naples). My english language is not perfect but I try to explain how repair the receiver because the mine have the same problem (don't power on after 4 years of regular use ).
The bad component is the capacitor C405 (22nf 630 v )on the relay power board, the same board where are the two socket for the ac outlet.
I hope that my solution help all the persons wich have this problem on this very beatiful amplifier Yamaha RX-V450.

Try the fuse first normally you can see if it's damaged

Tips for a great answer:
Oct 15, 2012 | Remington Style Therapy: Keratin Therapy...
Then some claim that the TV switches them from their favorite show to the atv because of this sudden unexpected atv switch-on. The fact is that it does not emit video over the HDMI when the light goes on. What happens is that if you turn your TV on and the device you want to use is already on, the tv will recognize the HDMI input and automatically switch to that channel. That happens when you switch the TV on. But it does not happen while you are watching TV.
Like a previews post stated, the atv uses the same software as iPhone & iPad. All these devices send packets over the network while they're in sleep mode. So if your peripheral device doesn't work with these products, either sort out the peripheral's functionality or stop using the atv. All future smart phones & tablets will remain on while in standby and so do current DVRs.
