Uninstall any programs having to do with Dell Media Direct from your computer.


Install Microsoft Intellitype Keyboard Software and Keytweak


Open Keytweak to remap the Dell Media Direct button to make your computer think you are actually hitting the "calculator" button on a multimedia keyboard even though we are using your standard-issue laptop keyboard.

1. Click on Tools in the top menu and select Half Teach Mode.

Press the Scan Single Key button and then push your Dell Media Direct button.
Select Calculator from the drop down list and hit Remap.
Click on Apply and restart.





Give your Media Direct button a push and calculator should open up.

Right-click on the desktop and select New, Text Document. Don't worry about what to name it here because we will be saving as something different later.

In the text file, type: @echo off RUNDLL32.EXE PowrProf.dll,SetSuspendState

• Lettering is case and space-sensitive!

Click File, Save As, Select your C:\ drive, and save the file as hibernate.bat

Get latest Vista driver for your keyboard/laptop. The calc is just a mapped key on the keyboard that runs the macro "calc" in the command line. and you may be able to use 3d party key mapping software to reassociate certain keys to do certain macro commands.

Start->All programs->Startup. Here you will find Calculator in the list of startup programs. Select and Remove from the list of startup. And it will not popup again, unless you want to use it.

all programs then go to accessories then click on calculator, click on calculator then use keys on the dell keypad

Press the NUMLOCK button, probably near the upper right-hand of your keyboard
