I went to film after it had rained. The dew detector flashed and shut the camera off. I kept restarting it and the same thing kept happening. So I got in the car to see if the dew detector would stop flashing and it did stop, but every time I tried to record nothing happened. I attempted several more times but with the same result. The screen was empty with no on screen display, but the power button light thing just flashes when i turn it on. The battery is charged though. And in addition to all of this it seems to have started eating the tape when this problem started to occur. Is it an easy fix or if not is it worth it to repair it or just replace it?
Try removing the case screws from the right side of the camera. Soak the screw in Electronics Cleaner (you can find this at Radio Shack). Handle the case carefully as there as some wire and a wire tape connector attached to the case. Carefully replace the screws and power up. Remove the battery before you start removing screws. This seems to have fixed mine for now
