Use system restore to go back from where he start installing all the programs to his computer... go to accessories at the ALL PROGRAMS command then SYSTEM TOOLS then select System Restore.. and follow the instructions... its very easy. Good luck!

To do a system restore you would need the disks. possibly you could restore some settings but not a full restore. if it has xp and he has system restore enabled he might back up till a time the problems werent there.you would have had to have had the system restore activated befor the trouble started and it may still ahve problems there.some pc's have a backup on the hd you might try emachine support and see if this is the case here. i have fixed a few emachines just not that experienced their os.

The best option about to restore the system back to the factory settings the only thing which you can do here is if you don't have the CDs you need come accessories then you need to select the option which say system tools then select the option with says system restore. what you need to do here is just select the very first date which is highlighted Candida previous month as well. This will restore your system back to the settings when you purchased it

I want to restore my HP Compaq 58 to its original state so I went to the Update and restore in the Computer settings then pressed Restore. After that I opted for Delete all and restore Windows. The problem...

The first option is to restore to factory settings (as purchased when new. This option deletes your personal files, and just re-installs to factory. If using this, it is advisable to find any discs to programs installed since original factory state (as of time of purchase) It is advisable to use a program like Balearic Adviser to collect information, and sometimes your keys to any programs you instaled , and cannot find the software to reinstall.
The second option appears to be to wipe the hard drive so that your data is not available to others if you wanted to sell/scrap (recycle) your pc. The data is often saved on a seperate partition on your hard drieve

Averatec 7100 laptop factory recovery disc

Most times the recovery discs don't work. Why not just get an operating system disk and reinstall the operating system?

Have you tried doing a System Restore? System Restore will let you select a Restore Point (date and time) before you started having problems. System Restore will not delete your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the Restore Point you selected). System Recovery on the other hand will delete everything and set your system back to the point when you first purchased it.

To start System Restore click Start/Programs or Start/All Programs. Click Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. When it opens you will have the option to select another restore point (date and time) than the one shown.

Restore or Recovery?

System Restore can be found by clicking Start/Programs/Accessories/System Tools/System Restore. Or if you have Windows 7 click Start then type System Restore in the search box and look at the Results to click System Restore. System Restore allows you to select a Restore Point (date and time) before you started having problems. It does not delete any of your data, documents, music, pictures, videos or programs (unless the program was installed after the Restore Point you selected).

Rsystem Recovery deletes everything and sets your computer back to when you first purchased it. Read the manual to see how to get into System Recovery.

Get online and got to www.google.com In the google search box type: "Acer Support" (without the quotes and put your manufacturer name before Support). Look for downloads and drivers. Enter your model number and operating system when requested. Look for Manuals and search them for System Recovery or Restore to Factory Settings.

How do i set a recovery programe to go back to factory settings

Your going to need the factory disks to do this. The factory disks have drivers and all the original software that came with your laptop computer when purchased. Some companies are turning to the web to provide factory disk downloads at a certain web site to save money or shipping of factory disks for their computers. In any case you will have to have the factory disc to restore to factory settings and software on your laptop.
Once you obtain that then it is simple from there. Place the disk in the tray and boot it will begin the process of installing your machine all over again. If you have files and things you wish to save do it before you load the disk for its factory restore. "You will loose any unsaved information"
That is mainly the right process to do this. "Obtain a Factory Restore Disk" John

Missing files for recorder and Youtube. How do I reset to factory settings to get all needed files?

If you have deleted the icons for those programs on your desk top, then they may be in your Recycle trash bin. double click on Recycle Bin look for the icon for recorder, right click on recorder and select restore. You really cannot delete the programs from your machine as they are retained in a ROM chip , hard coded into the chip and are loaded each time you cut your machine on. The only thing you can do is delete the icons on the desktop, which are sent to the recycle bin.

To retore the machine to factory settings, there is a small hole just about an inch down from the data plate on the back. Using a pencil point or a straightened paper clip, insert the bject into the hole and hold for about 5 seconds. Your deleted icons are not replaced.

A second method to restore your icon is to click on my computer right click on the recorder, select copy, dismiss my computer, find a blank spot on your desktop and right click on that spot, select paste, and a dos type icon appears as your recorder button. When you cut the machine of and back on the Dos type icon is replaced with a CE type icon.

How can i delete everything on my hp mini laptop

#1: Shut down your computer. You must first shut your computer down toinitiate the factory restore.#2: Start up your computer and as the computer logo appears (such as Dell orHP) hit "Ctrl>F11" simultaneously. This may be different fordifferent machines, but the most common keys to hit are"Ctrl>F11." If this does not work, the F8 key has been said towork for certain machines.
#3: Select "Repair My Computer" from the list of menu options thatappear and press "Enter."
#4: Choose the language settings that you would like and then click enter.
#5: Enter the administrator log in and password if it asks you for thisinformation.
#6: Choose the factory reset option. This should reset your computer to thefactory settings when you bought your machine.

How do i install the computer back to original factory settings

Hardware:
If you are talking about the BIOS settings.
Reboot the machine and hit the F2 key or Delete key.
Which ever the machine requires to start up the Motherboard bios screen.

There should be a setting that states:
Reset to default factory settings.
Select this, save and restart. Viola your factory settings have been restored.

Software:
Usually the machine came with a restore CD.
Be careful with this one and make certain this is the only course of action. Make sure the bios is set to boot from the CD FIRST before it boots to the hard drive. Follow the CD's instructions to restore the factory default setup. You will Loose EVERYTHING so be sure.

Good luck!
