Of course not.
Some motherboards support DDR1 only. Some others support DDR2 only. And some support both, but only one type at a time. Both types cannot be mixed.

I have pc p4 3.06 intel processor and i hav now DDR1 RAM in my pc can i use ddr2 ram by removing ddr1 ram will my motherboard support ddr2 ram

Sorry but you cannot interchange ddr1 for ddr2. They are different kinds of RAM, and your chipset (865GV) can only accept ddr1. If you want to use ddr2, or even ddr3 then upgrade to a newer motherboard.

Dear sir, how to change ddr 1 to ddr 2 in asush p5vdc motherboard problem: i want install ddr2 ram in my asush p5vdc motherboard but its not working so plz tell me.

You cant.

DDR1 and DDR2 have a diffrent amount of pins and notch location. You cant put DDR2 into a DDR1 mobo.

if you want to run DDR2 your going to have to upgrade your mobo, but to be honest, your better off going with the most uptodate RAM set.

its a diffrent set of rules so to speak, so even if a DDR 2 chip would fit a DDR1 slot, it wouldnt run properly.

hope this helps

I wish to know if DDR2 RAM can be used on the motherboard. The vendor has supplied me with one DDR1 RAM 512MB DDR400 CL2.5. I am having 2 pieces DDR1 RAM from my old machine 128MB EACH. I wish to know if...

No you cannot use it .... *********** board will not support DDR2.... but if have the slot for both DDR1 then you can use DDR1.. but i will suggest you to use Ram for same memory .. But you can use 521 & 128 together , no problem.
thanks for rating Good luck

I am going to upgrade ram to 1 gb. can i use ddr2 1 gb ram to upgrade .motherboard is microstar model ms-6526 ver: 2 . present ram is ddr1 400 MHz, 512 MB

If your computer has two RAM slots on the motherboard, i would recommend trying it. The computer will run on the 512MB stick alone and just not recognise the other stick. And if it works it works.

I have searced for support documentation and came up with none for the original MS-6526

I run my original version MS-6526 on a 512MB PC2300 (DDR1) and a 512MB PC3200 (DDR1) and it runs just fine for games and videos.

Personally I would recommend trying the DDR2 first and if that fails, return the card and get a DDR1 card. They are expensive, but at least they work.

My mother boaard has written ddr1 and ddr2 near the ram slot. Is it pssible to put ddr2 ram? before it had ddr1 ram

It's not because DDR1 ram slot Motherboard are created only for DDR1.
DDR2 are the newest design of memory module by a new MOBO.

There is no Motherboard that are design with two kinds of Memory Slot DDR1 & DDR2.

I never that before.

Can i use ddr2 ram in my pc inplace od ddr1 i cn purchase pc 07?

Hey there, Check for the slots given on your motherboard, whether all the slots are same; However a motherboard can support only one type of module either DDR1 or DDR2. your motherboard has only DDR1 slots. You cannot upgrade DDR1 to DDR2 cause the Memory Module or notches are different than eachother. Gimme Acknowladgement by rating me. Thanx - Romy Decostza

IS ddr2 ram works on ASUS P4GE-MX? or only DDr 1 is supported by this motherboard???

Number of PIN DDR2 more much than DDR1. If you install on DDR2 Slot DDR1, can not be installed correctly, because the location of the key slot DDR1 and DDR2 is different.

Look the picture, and look the different

I look for your maindboard, it's only supported DDR1.
