Hi, my acer 5610 boots for like 3 seconds only, then i have a black screen, i cannot switch it off after that and i cannot get the screen to go on.
When you power up the computer pressF8 key continues then if you got screen "safe mode and other thing" then there is screen resolution problem so then enter in enable vga mode then go to control panel ->disply-> settings
increase screeen resolution to 1024*768 then apply and ok.
First refix RAM memory then check if still face problem then
You need to reset factory defaults settings for bios.
For reset bios u have to open back side of your laptop then u find motherbord circuit there.
pull cmos cell on motherbord for 15 minute then it reset to defaults.
Also u can reset with jumper settigns read carefully on mother bord there is 1 jumper near cmos cell u read there " bios reset or clear"
It is on 1-2 position right now set it in 2-3 position then power up then all bios settings are reset.
then again set it in 1-2 its original position.

Hi..
Most laptop PCs include external video outputs, primarily VGA (Video Graphics
Array), with an increasing number of devices offering DVI (Digital Visual
Interface), or HDMI (High Definition Multimedia Interface) support.
When your laptop PC's built-in display isn't working properly, you can
quickly and easily determine if the problem relates to the built-in graphics
circuitry or to the display itself by plugging in an external monitor. If the
external monitor lights up and things work as they should, the built-in
display is at fault. If the external monitor also fails to work, it's likely
that your laptop PC graphics circuitry has failed. Because this can involve
replacing a standalone graphics module or the system board inside the laptop,
depending on the make and model of your computer, you need to perform a
cost-benefit analysis on making repairs or replacing your laptop PC.
Good luck !!!

Hi..
This could be a faulty CCFL lamp.
To determine if you have a LCD screen, inverter or video card problem, read this and follow these instructions.
Defective
CCFL backlight, it may have the following symptom: Screen flashs on
red/pink and off. Picture stays on in red and slowly be come normal.
Picture flickering with dim display or appear black. Picture flickering
on and off. All these symptoms indicate that the LCD backlight lamp
(CCFL Lamp) has reached the end of the life and all you need to do is
replacing the CCFL lamp.
Connect an external monitor to your laptop and power the monitor up first then the laptop,
if you see the normal Windows images then the video card and laptop is
OK and the problem is definitely the backlight. Dim image and/or dark
display on the laptop's LCD screen indicates a faulty LCD backlight and
it could be the inverter that supplies high voltage to the CCFL lamp or
it is the CCLF lamp is nearly burnt out or burnt out, most likely this
is the case.
The inverter can be replaced easily but the CCLF lamp is more time consuming and requires soldering skills.
Good luck !!!
