LG Washing Machine Displaying Fault Code IE or 1E
WM2016CW
WATER INLET ERROR // Water not entering washing machine correctly
The manufacturer has assigned this error or fault code to indicate that the washer is not filling with water. Check to be sure the water supply valves are open. Also, check to be sure the water supply hoses aren't kinked or clogged. Next, remove the hoses from the washing machine and run water into a bucket to test the pressure and flow of the water. If all of these check out and you have good water pressure and flow to the machine, you should replace the water inlet valve.
no spin cycle don't have water it could be the pump is not getting the water out fast enough, could be clogged or the rear drain pipe is blocked or bent. failing them to problems it could be the valve its self.
Check your drain the drain hose must be higher that the tub or it will run down the drain.
It must be going down the drain or you would have water all over the floor If the water is coming in it has to go somwhere. In rinse cycle it should stay in the tub until the timer kicks it into drain and spin.
If yo9u were to unplug the machine at that point and the water continues to run in you have a bad water valve. If it stops when yoou unplug it, it may be the timer. Would have to test to see if voltage is present at the valve in the second scenario,. Water valve part# is WH13x10024 @ $51.00
Are you on well water? turn off the cold water to the washer and clean the screen filter out. do not leave filter out. the machine probably has a cold only final rinse so it won't work properly.
POWERUP, YOUR WASHER COULD BE THE LID SWITCH OR THE COLD WATER VALVE. AT THE END OF THE WASH CYCLE, THE MOTOR WILL SPIN OUT THE WATER, BUT ONLY IF THE LID SWITCH IS ACTUATED. IF THE SWITCH IS BAD, IT WILL NOT SPIN OUT THE WATER AND THE TIMER WILL NOT ADVANCE FROM THAT POINT.
IF THE WASHER SPINS, THE NEXT STEP IS TO FILL WITH WATER FOR THE RINSE CYCLE. MOST WASHERS USE COLD WATER FOR RINSES. IF THE COLD WATER VALVE IS RESTRICTED OR FAULTY, THE WASHER WON'T FILL. IF THE WASHER WON'T FILL, THE WATER LEVEL SWITCH WON'T ACTIVATE AND THE TIMER WON'T ADVANCE TO THE NEXT STEP.
sounds like you are right the water inlet solenoid on the hot side is sticking remove the hoses and clean th escreen out and the valve try agin with a fill on hot to see if it stops on a small load if not replace the water inlet valve
If water is leaking only during the times when it is supposed to be coming in , then the first places to check are at the hose connections and the hoses themselves. If it continues to leak after the water stops coming in , then you have to look at the drain connection and finally at the drum seal.
