Hydraulic systems, if you were to plug the return lines off the bucket pistons you could test the actual pistons inside the assembly. Raise the bucket and see if the bucket still falls, dont lift it to far or you will have a lot of hydraulic fluid to clean up, you might also have got the wrong kit and the seals are not touching the sidewalls of the cylinder. If the bucket stays in place then you have a leaky return stuck on and releasing the pressure.

My car is leaking oil near the passenger side, what all do i check for places it could be leaking from?

It's probably seeping out from the front main seal. Look underneath or behind the harmonic balancer and you might see some drops of oil, or a small puddling. Mine seeps/leaks from there too. It drips 2-3 drops per day, so I throw down cat litter every month or so, rub it into the concrete with my shoe, and then sweep it off the floor. Much cheaper than replacing the seal.

2006 toyota avalon blowing white smoke in the morning then clears out

you may have 1 of 2 things it may be a seeping head gasket allowing coolant to seep into cylinder overnight or it may be valve seals leaking allowing oil to seep by valve seals onto valve smell the smoke as coolant will have a sweet smell and if its oil thats what it will smell like

Have a very slow power steering fluid leak. thoughts as to where it could it be leaking from?

The top of your power steering pump where the steering arm via ujoint is a seal, otherwise known as the power steering top seal is most likely seeping out, see if you can wipe it really good and trying driving it some, and then wipe it again, if fluid on top in, seal needs replacing, also check housenthatngo down to your steering area for leaks. Let me know, thanks Mike

I have a 2000 beetle turbo and just notices it is leaking oil from around the plug which is tight and seeping transmission fluid. Is this going to be a costly fix?

OIL LEAK AROUND THE SPARKS PLUGS COULD BE LEAKING VALVE COVER GASKETS ALLOWING OIL TO SEEP BY GASKET FLOW DOWN AROUND SPARK PLUGS.TRANSMISSION LEAK IS NOT VERY EXPENSIVE LONG AS TORQUE CONVERTER SHAFT SEAL NOT LEAKING WHICH TRANSMISSION HAS TO DROPPED OUT TO REPLACE SHAFT SEAL.IF TRANSMISSION LEAK AROUND FRONT AXLE SEAL IT MAY COST A LITTLE.BUT PAN GASKET LEAK OR OIL COOLER LINES WONT COST TOO MUCH NOT HARD TO GET TO REPAIR.PHONE AROUND GET PRICE CHECKS.

Have a 2000 carrera and when I frist start it when its cold it let's out a cloud of smoke and after a few min it clears up

the valve seals will leak over time ,,so as the car sits awhile some oil will seep done between the seals and get in the piston..so when uyou start the car the engine wil burn it out thruogh the exaust

DUE TO OIL OVERFILL BY SHOP, ENGINE SEEPS OIL. IS IT A SEAL? WHAT SHOULD COST BE?

It's probably a seal but how much to fix depends on which seal it is.If it's not leaking too bad I'd leave it alone unless it was an easy fix. Some seals require a partial tear down of the engine, some only need a piece ortwo taken off. The best bet would be to take it in to a shop and find out exactly which seal it is andtake it from there. Hope this helps.

Front rear seal are beginning to seep

Time to change oil! Just kidding. Make sure your PCV valve is working. If in doubt, replace it. A bad PCVvalve causes crankcase pressures to build and everything will start leaking. Good Luck.

96 S-10, 2.2 liter 4 cyl with MFI, fuel injectors are leaking

I have seen 2 reasons they will seep. Orings not seating and the hold down just a little bent. Are the orings specifically for these injectors and have you tried using some silicon lubricant not adhesive to hold lower oring in place and to lubricate the upper oring that is actually the outer seal?
