U should use the specified sol for that machine, but you can use basicly anything except for foaming solotions and solvents like lysol

Will spray water, but not solution

Hi there! The clean water tank has two spring loaded valves that releases the contents. Fill the clean water tank with water on both sides. Hold the cleaner up and push the valves in on both water and solution side. Both valves should push in and contents should drip out. If not, the clean water tank will need replacing. To order a replacement tank follow the link. Search Results The type of solution you are using can also prevent the solution from dispensing, be sure you are only using the recommended cleaning solution for this cleaner. If the clean water tank valves seem to be working fine, there may be an issue with the pump assembly that delivers the solution. We would recommend taking the cleaner in to an authorized repair center for service. To locate the nearest service center to you follow this link > Service Center Locator Hope this helps!

Followed directions on filling water and solution tanks. When I use the cleaner the cleaning solution is not being dispensed.

The tubing is clogged, you need to take the tubing off and clean it out or some how force some hot water thru the tubing and clean it out. this happens when you don't run clean water thru thesystem after using the cleaning solution. The solution dries and hardens in the tube.
here is some other tips that should help you get it back up and running

The cleaning solution water wont flow thru the unit. What do i do?

First, have you check the the owners manual? You can find them at http://www.bissell.com/SearchResults.aspx?searchtext=spotbot&mode=userguides

Possibilities:
Spray Tip clogged
Clean/Solution tank is out of fluid
Clean/Solution tank is not inserted into the unit securely

Solutions:
- Clean Spray Tip
- Fill Clean/Solution Tank.
- Gently press the Clean/Solution Tank until you see “bubbles”
coming from the base of the tank.

The cleaning solution does not come out.

Our cleaning solution had gotten 'stringy' or 'thready' and clogged the exit. Hubby emptied it, cleaned it thoroughly (with long-handled aquarium brush), and with new bottle of solution it worked fine again.

Will not spray solution. Belt is not broken.

Clean out the line were your solution comes out. It sounds like you have a build up of product solution . Check your products you used . Some cleaning product are very sticky. Best of luck Ed.

Amounts of Solutions

From the manual:

1. Remove the Clean/Solution Tank by lifting it
straight up, then away from the Lower Body.
2. Unscrew the black cap at the bottom of the
Clean/Solution Tank.
3. Add one of the BISSELL Advanced Cleaning formulas
for Deep Cleaning machines to the formula fill
line on the Clean/Solution tank. Fill the rest of the
tank with hot (not boiling) tap water to the water
fill line. Replace and tighten the black cap.
4. Place Clean/Solution Tank on Lower Body.

The manual is available at retrevo.com, but you have to register to get it. It doesn't open up so that I can link you to it. It doesn't cost anything though.

Hope this helps!

Cleaning solution continually runs from clean solution tank

Where is the water running out? If at the bottom of the tank, is the seal on where the tank sits on, Maybe the rod inside the handle is staying pushed down, the reservior asm is bad, or a water line is off.

Bissell Proheat 2 solution tank

First make sure the solution bottle is seated correctly and the machine solution inlet is free from any debris
try the hose part of the machine,
See if water comes out of the hose ; Set the dial to heavy traffic, then put a pencil mark on the solution bottle level with the solution liquid ,
See if the solution level goes down
see if water is coming out of the spray tips under the machine
The spray tips could be blocked .
