No wireless networks found in range

I have a Dell Vostro XP with a pre-installed wireless card, Wireless suddenly stopped working at all of the places I have used it for years. I even did a system restore to be sure it wasn't a software glitch. I reset my router, uninstalled and reinstalled the wireless drivers, I made sure Windows is set to manage but there is a red X on my Wireless Connection,Not Connected,Firewalled and no wireless networks show up.

I was able to follow your instructions and try to "Repair" That didnt work. I didnt understand any of the rest of your instructions, It's all over my head. I don't know how to "ping" or what the IP address for my wireless router is, and no clue what or where an RJ45 cable is. sorry.

Are all the LEDs on the wireless router are on?
When you reset the wireless router wait at least 1/2 min before powering the router up.
Right click on the wireless connection and click on Repair, this will force the wireless router to issue a new IP address to the wireless card. If the the red x is still on the wireless conection then :-
To check if the wireless card can communicate with the wireless router, ping the IP address of the wireless router, (this is the IP address that is used to login and configure the wireless router) if you get no reply and all packets are lost, then connect a network cable from the laptop's RJ45 port to the wireless router's RJ45 port and do the ping test again.
If you still get no reply and lost packets then most likely you have a faulty wireless router.
Get back to me on the results of the tests and I can then advise what to do next.

Dell Vostro 320 network dead and now wireless network dead

I personally think all AIO PC's like the Vostro 320 are lemons because they have heat issues due to poor ventilation. The internals aren't easily accessible to the average user. And when one thing breaks inside the customer almost always has to send the whole unit back to the company to get fixed.

That being said, wireless adapters do frequently die due to overheating.

Luckily wireless adapters are very inexpensive. www.newegg.com has several decent usb adapters for less than $10 and with FREE shipping.

If I were you I'd give this model a try:
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16833315091

I've personally purchased this exact model several times and never had a problem with it. It's super small and plugs into an open USB slot. Most times your operating system will even auto install the drivers for you too so it really doesn't get any easier than that.

Good Luck!

I've dell vostro 1014 n my wireless network is not working,i tried to install wireless driver but its showing that qmi module not exist..what should i do? please suggest.

The wireless card may not be included in your laptop or the wrong wireless card driver was installed.
I suggest you dowmload the driver usin=gf the Service Tag number.
You can download the drivers from Dell WEB site, the support download page. Make sure you select your model desktop or laptop, better still, type in the Service Tag number, it is printed on the label on the bottom of the laptop and on the back or sides of a desktop. (If the Service Tag label is missing then go into the BIOS setting and on one of the BIOS pages, the Service Tag number will be displayed). This will open the page where the specific drivers for your model computer are located. Also make sure you select the Windows XP or Vista version of the drivers for your Windows operating system. Click on this link to download the drivers: -
