By "fill up " I take it you have no fill.
If it partialy fills it is the water level switch
If you get hot or cold the hot or cold coil may be faulty
if you get no fill at all- and it spins - it may be timer

It is very possible for it to be a valve failur as these machines have a temperature control incommon, It recieves voltatge through the temp control.
