If it is humming the motor is bad,or if it pulls more than 4 amps.

Intertherm MGHA-070ABFC-05 will not run/cool

Multiple problems. Eliminate thermostat first. Remove face from wall and turn on breaker. If fan still runs you have a bad board or bad relay. If fan outside is running compressor should be too. These operate on same contactor. Verify you are getting 24 volts to coil side of contactor. If odf stops working and contactor remains pulled in you have a bad motor. If odf motor stops working the compressor will shut off due to overheating.

My condenser fan runs and blows cool air but isnt cooling down the house. Any help.

Check the outdoor unit (condensing unit). Keep in mind, because the condenser fan is running it's not an indication that the compressor is working. On a split system, there's a dual capacitor that serves the fan and the compressor. The capacitor has three terminals.
1. common
2. fan = fan
3. Herm = compressor
This is a common problem; The outdoor fan (condenser fan) runs, but not the compressor (you have to know the sound of a running compressor or you'll mistake it for the sound of the fan) doesn't, because the compressor side of the capacitor is too weak to give it that needed phase angle that it requires to start. If you're referring to the outdoor fan spinning, but no cooling, I can bet the compressor isn't working and needs a new capacitor. Very common problem, I see it all the time. Before you change the capacitor, make sure that you cut the power to the unit, and then use an insulated tool such as a screwdriver and short the terminals together first. A capacitor holds a charge even after being de -energized.Buy the new one with the same exact rating written on it as the old one. Do not mix up the wires when replacing. Write it down or take a picture with your phone

What type of run capacitor do I need for a Ruud AC model UPNJ-031JAZ (outside unit)

Looks like it should be a 35/3 370VAC. If it is not legible on the old capacitor read the data plate on the fan motor and compressor. These should say "uf" or "mfd" rating. Good Luck!!

I have a RUUD central air conditioning system, model NBHC-18J20SFA. The cooling function is not working. The fan on the outdoor unit is not working. When switching to COOL, the compressor works for a few...

sounds like the outdoor fan motor and/or capacitor needs replaced. The compressor will run for a short time because the fan is not pulling the heat out of the system, it can cause damage to the compressor if the fan is not repaired, Ruud used a 3uf capacitor rating for the outdoor fan motor, if the motor has been changed make sure the proper capacitor is also changed for the new motor rating.

RS652 fridge stopped working overnight tripping circuit breaker

Hi,

Turn it off completely and let is cool over night and then plug it back in and see if the fan runs and if the compressor runs...

If the compressor runs but not the fan then check for voltage going to the fan and replace as needed...if there is no voltage then trace bad to see if the main board is bad...

Start relay and capacitor may be bad if the compressor does not run after getting completely cooled down...

Check out these tips that I wrote about that... it is a greatplace to start trouble shooting your unit...and something that you can dorather then calling a repair person to do a simple thing for you...

RV air conditioner. Compressor running, fan stops before cool

The fan motor is getting hot and going off on the internal overload in the motor.
This is caused by either a low voltage, a bad capacitor, or tight or dry bearings in the motor.
To check the bearings turn the power off to the unit, then spin the fan blade if it spins freely then the bearings are ok.
To check the capacitor you will need some kind of tester or you can buy a capacitor and replace it, that's what a lot of people do. They usually don't cost very much.
To check the voltage you will need a voltmeter and measure the volts at the unit.
