Question about Sony RDR-VXD655 Recorder
I have three different identical Sonys, each assigned to a different remote. One of them stopped working, and when I tried to reassign one of the other remotes to that machine the second remote stopped working. I tried to reset the machine and the remote to the factory settings, tried to unplug the machine, making it think that it needed to be set up from scratch, but no luck. How do I reassign these remotes? Do I need to buy replacements?
If you're seeing on the LCD of the DVD player something like "DVD1" every time you press a button on the remote, try this: Change the command mode of the remote to match the player. Do that by holding down the Enter key on the remote and pressing the respective number. In my example above, hold Enter and press button 1 to set the command mode of the remote to DVD1. I had this problem and even unplugging the player didn't help, but the above worked for me.
