This is Canon Support, and the Support page for the Canon Pixma ip 1800,
Canon Pixma printer unplugged from your computer, (Unplug the USB cable) Power is off on the printer.
Click on the -> Drivers and Downloads <- tab. (All the way to the right)
Under the -> Drivers/Software Selection heading in the long gray box, choose what Operating System you're using.
(Click on the blue down arrow, to the right of Select OS. Then click right on the name of your operating system)
I'm going to choose Windows XP as an example.
In the Drivers box, click on the red ->
A small window will pop-up. Click on the empty circle to the left of Save. Now go below to the right, and click on Save.
You will now see the download progression bar. This driver file will download to your desktop screen, unless you have your downloads saved to go to your My Documents folder. (Start>My Documents)
If it goes to your desktop screen, it will have a yellow folder icon with ip1800svst205ej.exe
If it's in your My Documents folder, it will just be labeled as ip1800svst205ej.exe
After you find it, double-click on it. The Installation Wizard will appear. Just follow the instructions. You may be asked to restart your computer. Do so.
Now plug the USB cable from your Canon Pixma into your computer, then turn your Canon Pixma on.
