TRY TURNING THE DRUM BY HAND IF IT DOES NOT MOVE YOU PROBABLY HAVE A BAD MOTOR IF IT MOVES VERY EASILY YOU HAVE A BROKEN BELT. IF IT MOVES WITH SOME RESISTANCE TRY CHECKING THE VOLTAGE AT THE MOTOR IT BE A BAD WIRE

Thanks for your reply. I want to clarify, the drum on my bosch front loader model no.WFL2400 does not turn at all when it is in wash cycle even though I hear the machine is going normal. Neither will the drum spin when it is in spin cycle. The rest of the functions like water pumping is normal in wash cycle. Initially I set the control button to 60 degrees, fast wash cycle and spin cycle at 1100 rpm. When I press the start button the cycle began and water from the tap flow through delivery host to machine via the water inlet valve. Water gets through the inlet valve for a short while through the detergent box into the drum as it would normally do when it is functionting properly however, a noise of a "chun" is soon heard and water supply ends abruptly. I could see the water level in the drum is very low and later a "click" noise is heard this time from the but the drum does not rotate at all. Within a short time, I could finally hear water being drained out of the machine but there is no rotation or spinning happening with drum throughout the entire operation. I have cleaned the water outlet hose.

Thanks everyone so far for your response. I have sent further information to get more help. Initially I thought it was a problem with the aqua inlet valve or the time could be faulty. Does anyone else has any further technical advise?

It is possible that the machine does not start off the cycle because there are errors due to feedback from the inputs. For the program to start up the main program controller must initiate the INLET/MOTOR/DRAIN pump/ valve to open up and allow each function to be driven starting from the flow of water into the drum as also the drain valve to open to exit the water at the point of the program cycle. If this does not happen then the voltage at the valve/motor/pump must be checked or the fault relates to no voltage from the controller. This means the controller is a suspect.

If the water flows then the flow should be good, if not the inlet valve is bad or there is dirt in the filter. Also check the flow at the inlet of the water line. Once the water comes into the system the WATER LEVEL SENSOR - normally a pressure switch- must activate at the preset/chosen level to give the signal to the program controller to switch on the motor. What is most important for the motor to start functioning is that the door switch must be ON when the door is shut or this will be an error for starting the motor for rinse and wash.

Check this link to replace the inlet valve:

http://www.espares.co.uk/advice/washing-machines/a/7/1408/how-to-replace-the-inlet-valve-on-a-washer-dr.html

Finally after the wash the drain valve will be activated, the water is allowed to come in to rinse and then finally the dry spin with the drain valve/pump activated so as to drain off all the water from the clothes during the spin.

Make sure that a fault in any of the cycle will relate to the specified action, so check the command from the program module and then the executing device be it the valve or motor or pump.

Isolate power and water supply and gain access to the main drum motor. Check for condition of carbon brushes by removing them and repla
ce if severely worn. Check wiring loom around motor and right back to module controller. The clicking is obviously power being supplied to motor via the loom to the motor. finally check for any dry solder joints or burnt areas on the circuit board controlling the motor.
