Question about Polaroid FLM-3201 Television

1 Answer

Audio problem The audio is staticky, noisy, and loud on one channel (HG-46) the most watched channel in our house. All other channels are just fine except this. The sound is so loud, noisy, and has kind of static in it. Tried tightening up the wires, disconnecting, turning off the TV and then again re-wiring everything all over again but nothing works. Any help will be great.Thanks.

Re: Audio problem

Is this problem only on one channel? How is the sound on other tv's in the house? You may have a weak signal on this one channel

On one channel...PBS we do not get any sound. Sound is ok on other channels and works on the other tv in the house

This television must have the ability to broadcast channels in SAP. Look for an SAP or MTS or AUDIO button on your Sylvania remote. The audio menu might be the place to find this setting as well. You want to remove the SAP and have the tv in either mono or stereo.

I have a 19" magnavox

Do you have a digital converter box. If not, you need to get one to receive the analog channels.

I have a sony tv and cant get sound on 3 different channels..the other tv in the house is fine

that's a weird one. You might check your audio settings to make sure it is not on SAP (secondary audio programming) sometimes that will cause lack of audio on certain channels since some have it and some don't

Audio with digital channels, no audio with analog channels

I was getting a constant mono setting for all channels with no option to set it to stereo. I called Sharp, and they said that in order to receive stereo sound, you cannot use a standard coaxial cable. You need an S-Video or HDMI cable. This not only resolves the mono audio issue but also resolves the analog (vs. stereo) issue. Hope this helps!!

No sound on four channels while all other channels sound is fine.

You most likely have the SAP1.gif mode activated. Look for a button on your remote or an item in the on-screen menus of your television1.gif called MTS or SAP. You want to set this to "Main" "Normal" or "Stereo" (or even "Mono") mode to hear the regular television sound.

If it is in SAP (Secondary Audio Program) mode, as I believe yours is, you may hear no sound or a different audio program. Often this is a translation to another language, such as Spanish, and other times (notably with PBS stations) it is an unrelated audio (often music) feed. On some stations there may be no sound at all with the audio mode set to SAP.

Loud buzzing

check your connections again, if you have the audio and video reversed you will get this exact problem no video/ fuzzy video, and squealy noise out of only one speaker (other will likely sound correct) You're watching the sound channel, and listening to the video channel basically... hehe
