Its just redicules to spedn 35% of cost to received unrepaire they could have told me before hand by model number and type of problem that they are unable to repaire This is really cheating on part of rowenta and repaire shops SO be carefull before you send it for repaire
rinse the inside with white vinegar. Clean the bottom with store bought iron cleaner they are fairly inexpensive and work good. Be careful esp since alot of irons have teflon on the bottom you do not want to scratch this coating if you have it.
You either have a lot of iron in your water or you bought a used iron. Eitherr way, run a mix of 15% wite vinegar to 75% water. use it until gone and refill with plain water and run that through. Try using distilled or filtered water.
WHAT I THINK YOU SHOULD DO IS BRING BACK THE IRON TO THE SHOP WERE YOU BOUGHT IT WITH THE RECIEPT I RECKON THE GUARANTEE WOULD NOT COVER THIS YOU MAY HAVE TO PAY FOR THE REPAIR.
I just bought one myself for camping. Sent $6 S&H, along with lighter to Colibri Service Department (who apparently makes this lighter for Coleman) 1425 Cranston Street, Cranston RI 02920.
You'll want to empty the lighter of Butane before you send it (Hold lighter in verticle upright position. Depress filler valve with a ballpoint pen or small screwdriver until hissing stops.
