I have an xbox 360, its always been working fine, then randomly it starts to have problems, i will turn on my xbox and i can hear the sounds, but no pictures appear on the tv(i just get a black screen at all times), sometimes unplugging and replugging works, but while playing a game the graphics just go bad, then i reboot my xbox and get the black screen again but can still here the sounds. I dont know why this is occuring, my xbox has been working perfectly, extremely random problem, plz help:( (also one more thing about my console, i dont know what type of 360 it is, i dont think its an elite, but its one of the first types that came out)

i dont get three red rings, most of time when i turn my xbox 360 on i get sound working but no video(so i get a black screen with sound), if the video does work, its only for about ten mins, then the graphics of the game im playing get dark and blurry, and dont go away.

This has worked for many people, put some towels around your xbox and turn it on.wait until it overheats.then turn it off and turn it back on again, that should do it,if it doesnt, send it to microsoft :)

Hi my problem is at first my xbox 360 went on fine then after 10 mins the screen started going fuzzy so i turned it off then back on was working fine for about half an hour then the screen started going...

If you hear sound but no picture then your graphic chip has got separated from your motherboard, this is not a simple fix. receommend you to look for a local repair shop that can handle game console repairs or send it to xbox.com

Thanks

My xbox 360 sounds ill

Strangely enough inside any of those game boxes is a simple DVD reader driver like for a PC.

It can be replaced.

First I would try cleaning it with a spray air electronic cleaner or any sort of DVD reader cleaner.

Dust will accumulate in them even with the little door that covers it when closed.

If that's not the case, the sensor can also be cleaned with alcohol and a q-tip if you take off the case or the motor may be going bad ont he DVD drive itself.

Start with the basics.

It sounds like there is a probem with the RF Board (google search it). Problems occur with this from time to time when a sytem is disassembled and reassembled.

Xbox 360 randomely gets a black screen

Well here's the problem the towel trick. Ok the problem with the 360s for the most part is small cracks in the solder which causes a bunch of problem from rrod to this. The towel trick heats up the 360 enough to get the solder flowing again thus providing for a temporary fix. The problem is the solder goes places is shouldn't, thus towel trick ends up messing the 360 up more then it helps. My advice send it in, hopefully you still have the warrenty.

Screen won't show up but this is diffrent

This happened to mine and it had to be sent back to be repaired (3rd time) as the graphics card had failed; it started with the display colours looking strange, then the picture went totally. If you can hear everything working (beeping/whooshing" as you go through the "blades", it sounds like you have the same problem. below is how to reset to the default display sttings just in case anything has gone wrong on this.

To reset the display settings of the Xbox 360 console to the default settings, follow these steps: (Copy and pasted from Microsoft support pages)
  1. Remove any discs from the disc tray.
  2. Turn the console off.
  3. Turn the console on.

Note If you are using an Xbox 360 Wireless Controller, turn the console on by using the Xbox Guide button on the controller.

Note Make sure that you use the player 1 controller when you do this. The player 1 controller is the controller where the upper-left quadrant light is on.
  4. As the console starts, press and hold the Y button, and then pull the right trigger at the same time. This causes the Xbox Dashboard to reset the display settings to the default settings and then automatically restarts the console. So it's OK when the Xbox 360 console restarts.

If this doesn't work then try phoning XBOX Support on 0800 587 1102.

Xbox 360 problem

If you can still HEAR sound, but can't see. Check your Audio Video Cable.

It's the colorful one (red, white, yellow) (red, blue green, white, red)

Make sure the connections are secure into the back of the TV as well as the connection to the back of the Xbox 360.
