The most common reason is memory. Power off. Reseat (remove and reinsert) the memory. Hope this helps.

Just to add ... that doesn't work, and if you have more than one memory module, insert one at a time to test which is faulty.

Laptop computer will not power up. using power cord and keeps beeping three times every time when powering up.cleaned ram contacts and reseated these. still no change!

Suggest Anti-Static Procedures need to be followed, laptop opened up, and cooling system cleaned.

Also suggest replacing Thermal Paste on Processor, and Thermal Pad on graphics chipset. (Piece of small copper sheet would be better)

I have a Mitsubishi air con that has broken down like this twice because gecko's have gotten in and shorted it out. We had to have the circuits replaced at $1000 a pop. I think it can short out after a lightning storm too.

How can i boot up when there is a beeping noise

A beeping computer can generally mean some bad/corrupt memory and the PC will not boot until it is remedied. You will need to power off the PC, ensuring you unplug the power cable each time. Take out a piece of memory, at a time, leaving the other memory, still in the PC, depending upon how the memory is read based upon the motherboard reading the dim (memory) slots, power back up and re-try. It is basically a process of elimination, until you find the bad memory. Also, depending upon your Dell model, there maybe some diagnostic lights at the rear of the PC to also indicate where the issue may lie, albeit, memory, motherboard, graphics, etc.

I have recently built a new PC with an Asus P8H61-M and upon turning the PC on I am recieving no Visual on either of my monitors

Hello

If this is the first time to turn you on your computer check first the power supply of your computer if connected to their proper connector. Check your memory if clip properly in there memory slot. If you are using Video Card check it if it is properly connected to the connector. Then connect your VGA connector at the back of your computer when you have video card connect the VGA Cable of you monitor to the video card VGA output if does not have connect it with the onboard VGA output. Then press the power switch if the unit is still no visual in monitor try to search or hear a beeping sound in your computer by its on board buzzer. Find which beep you hear from your computer.

No Beep- No Power, Loose Card, or Short.
One Short Beep- Normal Post,, Computer is OK.
2 Short Beep- POST error, review screen for error code
Continues Beep- No power, Loose Card, or Short
Repeating Short Beep- No Power Loose Card or Short
One Long And Short Beep- Motherboard Issue
One Long and Two Short Beep- Video (mono/CGA Display Circuitry) Issue.
One long and three short beep- Video (EGA) Display Circuitry
Three Long Beep- Keyboard/ Keyboard Card Error
One Beep, Blank or Incorrect Display -Video Display Circuitry

Hope this help with your problem. Keep on touch in fixya

After updateing bios my computer restated, upone powering up screen stayes dark and it beeps 3 timmes one long 2 fast beeps then nothing lights come on and fan and cd but main computer dosnt it is an acer...

That could be several problems. The only way for somebody to diagnose the exact problem here would be if they were sitting right in front of the computer. I would suggest that you take it to your local repair shop, as they can diagnose the problem better than anybody over the internet can.

Hope this helps,

Beeping on startup

Hello,

1. did you have this problem before? Is this why your were replacing memory? Usually, the beeps indicate that your memory is fine. *********** board- for the most part is fine- This sounds like A Video problem- either a lose card, plug, cord, or bad slot.

2. What is the color of the light on your video monitor?

Check and make sure that you did not unplug or losen the video card. Check all the plugs and wires on all connections both inside and outside the computer. Make sure the monitor is plugged in both the back of the computer and the back of the monitor.

Beeping Upon Bootup

dependent on how many beeps you hear is dependent on what might be the problem. A fuller explanation from pushing the power button to nothing happening would be more than helpful. Beeps in a Poweredge can mean motherboard, memory or as you said power supply problems.
