Open Question

I have a problem with my ariens 34 inch zoom. Whenever I have the deck raised all the way up or lowered all the way down it runs fine, but if the deck is raised to the middle the deck belt starts shaking and the engine slows down.. What is wrong??

SOURCE: uncut strip in middle of 42 inch deck brand new

My first thought is that the blades are too short. If it cuts everywhere but in the middle, I'm wondering how it could be anything but that.

SOURCE: The engine will not stay running (Ariens 34' Zoom)

a lawn mower is not much different than a car, you still need 3 things to make it run: fuel, electricity, and a spark. you say it doesnt stay running, Before trying to make any repairs, ensure that you are using the correct fuel, also make sure the fuel lines are not leaking or crimped. if the lines seem fine, check the fuel filter and/ or fuel pump. though the mower is new, they can still have faulty componets.

SOURCE: cutting deck of mower not lowering

Did you check the wires goin to the motor under the frame to see if one of them came disconnected? Or...you might need a new switch.

SOURCE: While trying to remove blades on Ariens Zoom 34,

you're gonna need to use an impact wrench on those spindle shaft nuts because they tighten themselves over time and they wont come loose with a ratchet and socket.

SOURCE: my ariens zoom 34 belt

This machine is known for having belt guides installed improperly from the factory. Check to make sure none of the metal guides are touching the belt when installed.
Ps check with the machine off!
Good luck

Blades won't turn to cut grass

On the chute where the grass comes out there is a black piece of metal under the edge of the deck held on by the 2 big thumb screws is probably bent. You will need to try to move the blade on the side near the chute by hand (Make sure the mower is not running when you do this) if the blade touches the black piece of metal it will kill the mower if you engage the blades and try moving forward. Anyway you need to take the black metal piece off and bend the corner out of the way (I used a crescent and clamped it to the hitch on my pickup). I am guessing i went over something like a street curb with the deck when it was to low and that bent it. Now when ever I move the mower from someones yard or drive it across the street I always raise the deck up all the way. I hope this helps
