Question about Bugaboo Cameleon Jogger

1 Answer

Frame tilt is not working anymore

The big round buttons stay depressed and therefore the tilt mechanism doesn't lock. We have tried unscrewing the buttons to investigate but have not been able to find any problem. First one side was iffy and now both sides refuse to lock.

I need to remove this lockwood lock from my front door as it has stopped working but can't work out how to remove it

if its still locked and not working , then your in for a real chore !! as these are designed to not be able to just unscrew if there locked up , if its not locked , open door and unscrew frame part from frame (screws held it on frame) then look at bottom of key lock section , see small set screw (use allen key on this ) remove this screw , then using a small pipe wrench (you didn't want to keep it right ?) unscrew the lock section lefty loosey and then with a slight pry with small screwdriver entire front cover will pop off , this exposes the screws into the door , remove them an lock will come off door (leaves big holes in door thought)

My 2000 xterra's brake lights are on continuously

The button/switch is what should be adjusted not the lever. it might unscrew to move it closer or have a locking mechanism to move it outward, the lever should press the button about 80% down at rest

My 2005 deville's tilt steering wheel will not move. It is a mechanical lever (not power). when depressed the tilt mechanism doesn't seem to engage. the lever moves but the steering wheel cannot be...

There is no secret button. It sounds like the linkage between the tilt lever and the tilt mechanism inside the steering column has come loose, or the mechanism is jammed. If that's the case, it's a complicated job to repair it, and because of the air bag in the wheel housing, should only be done by a qualified shop.

The frame wont click into place

My daughter has just brought me a Bugaboo which is 25 months old (one month out of warranty) and after several hours work I have figured out the problem.
The reason that this seems to occur after a year or so is, I believe, related to the fact that the housing in which the white button sits is made of thermoplastic and is not dimensionally stable. For the button to work properly both the circular hole in which the button sits and the button itself must be circular and the button must be very slightly smaller in diameter than the housing. If either of these are slightly distorted the button will stick.
The other thing to know is that when the cradle is off the chassis the button will always be in the 'in' position. What pushes it out is the pressure of the part of the chassis on which the cradle sits when you push the cradle onto the frame (you can demonstrate this by getting a screwdriver or thin dowel) and pusing down on the plate within the socket on the cradle that sits on the chassis - when you do this the button will pop out and when you take the pressure off it will pop in again).
If when the cradle is attached to the chassis the button is not out, give it a few quick sharp presses on one side to make sure it isn't binding on the plastic within it sits.
This should releases it.
The cure? You need to dissamble the button assembly and spray some silicone lubrication or similar and make sure the various parts are working smoothly. Also you need to check to see if the white button is binding on its black housing. If it is, then carefully use some wet and dry paper or similar abrasive on the circumference of the button until it stops binding
Having figured out how this works I have to say that I consider the mechanism to be a very poor one considering the price that is charged for Bugaboos. If they took a little more care and made sure the button and housing wouldn't distort with age and bind, the problem wouldn't exist.
Hope this helps.

Door won't fully latch, light stays on, dryer won't function

There is typically a small plastic piece that catches the door and keeps it latched. The door has the male side and the frame of the dryer has the female side.

Either the male part on the door has broken off (or bent) or the the female part on the frame has broken. Replace this part and you'll be back in business. It is typically called a door latch and it comes with both the male and female parts.

Here is a picture
of a typical one.
