Question about Refrigerators

1 Answer

To help propane fridge can you turn the fridge upside down for a couple of minutes. Is this true? What kind of maintenance can you do? It is about 13 years old. The freezer works well, but the fridge isn't getting that cold. Sometimes the flame goes out. I clean the hoses and that helps. Please help!

Dont tip it upside down. if the freezer is working good then that says the cooling unit is working.if you look inside the lower section(the fridge) at the back wall inside. you should see a white wire clipped into the silver fins. move that white wire down about 3 or 4 fins to the left.this should help.

2003 wildwood Le trailer how do we light the gas on the refridgerator??? Did not come with manual.

Your fridge should have a switch for propane/electric/automatic. This is usually located above the fridge door & just below the freezer door. When on propane the gas will feed directly to the fridge there us no need to light it! However the propane needs to feed from the large propane tank usually mounted on the tongue of the trailer to the fridge....this takes some time . We usually light our drove first then wait a few minutes & then turn on the fridge. Please know that it takes a few hours 10-12 fir the fridge to cool down to acceptable temps.
Now if u do all the above u may have a blockage (mud dauber) in the propane line - which u can usually access thru the fridge access panel on the outside of your trailer. Bees seem to be drawn to the Oder if propane. Make sure prolate tank is shut off! Take a small brush & clean the inside of the propane line & then start from the beginning.

When the switch is set to electric, you should notice the fridge getting colder in a few hours. Again 10-12 hrs before it us acceptable to place food in it.

When the switch is in the auto mode it will automatically switch from electric to propane when you lose electricity for any reason & back to electric is you run out of propane - or shut it off.

Oh one last thing you must have your battery on in order for the fridge to work!

Good luck!

Error code C7 13

Before calling service technician, open following links for troubleshoot resources including Rheem chat, and Rheem contact, and possible product manual:
http://waterheatertimer.org/Troubleshoot-Rheem-Tankless-water-heater.html

C7 13 might be bad flow control valve.
While the tankless is down, I suggest also catching up on general maintenance such as cleaning the combustion chamber and burner parts, checking vent drain line, and cleaning water filter, and de-liming the heat exchanger.
Some resources are shown following pdf:

I also have a Explorer grq 15 propane fridge made by Unique. It is also a 1999 model . We have had problems since new.I recently found the problem. There is a 3/16 copper line that goes from the incoming propane inlet valve to the thermostat on the bottom of the fridge. When this fridge was constructed, the copper pipe was cut, and a furrel and nut were put on the pipe.No one cleaned out the inside of the pipe after the cut was made.It was 1/3 plugged .I took a drill bit that fit in the good end of the pipe, and cleaned out the partially plugged end.The fridge works perfectly now.13 years of agravation over with. You must lay the fridge on its side or top to get at this pipe.Hope this helps others.

Fridgemaster fridge freezer has just stopped working, light comes on and can her some kind of motor at backi, any ideas???

Out of coolant? Got a leak? May just be liquid in the radiator, switch off, turn it all upside down (emptied) for 30 minutes, then right way up, leave for an hour, then plug it in and switch on to see if it has helped to get fluid in the compressor. Cant hurt, sounds pretty bad really, sorry!

My propane fridge will not get cold

You have described an Ammonia refrigerator. The chemicals in the system are Ammonia, water, and hydrogen. In a crazy system of events, heating the bottom of the unit will cause the chemicals to seperate and then reunite in a complete cycle.
If you have never smelled a strong ammonia smell, then yes, the upside down thing will many times work.
The chemicals can become seperated in the wrong areas of the interior components.
Perform the upside down thing for 24 to 48 hours. Return to normal. Pause it for minimum of 4 yours and try again.
If the burner is working correctly, then you should see some results.

UNPLUG AND TURN IT UPSIDE DOWN FOR A DAY OR TWO. YOU MIGHT HAVE AMONIA CRISTALS BUILT UP IN YOUR PIPES. TURN IT BACK AND SWITCH ON YOU GAS BURNER AGAIN. THIS WILL SOLVE YOUR PROBLEM. IF NOT, GET A TECHNICIAN TO CHECK IT OUT.

Our Danby propane refrigerator has given us sterling service for about five years, but it has suddenly stopped cooling in the refrigerator box-the freezer still works. Any clues?

Having a simular problem; try changing your regulator on your propane tank. I'm try to find a new thermostat myself. Good Luck!
