Question about HP Pavilion dv6000z Notebook
You mentioned the same problem that i have!!The device 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20L ATA Device'(IDECdRomHL-DT-ST_DVDRAM_GSA-T20L________________NC08____&15fb8ba2&0&0.0.0)disappeared from the system without first being prepared for removal.I what to add something.1)Recovery will bring back your 'HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20L ATA Device'Sometime Does not works2)Restart and Interept (Repeat the same) Press "Esc" botton while boot to see IF DVD drive installed at boot.Works at list you can put "Recovery DVD" to recover.3)After restart, When PC is preparing Desktop Screen, leave your DVD drive little open.Works at list for a 15 or more minutes. If you put a DVD to Burn then while burnning... drive will not disappear.4)Restart in Safe mode, check Device Manager, If CD drive is there then Open System Configuration and check start as Normal then press Apply.then RestartYour chases of getting DVD drive back are more.It Seems like some kind of Group policy force PC to install the driver for DVD drive.Works at list DVD drive not disappear untill Unless you boot 2,3 times.5)Since problem reappeared after Recovery, I have a Question.Recovery = to make OS Factory Default install. But BIOS remain unchanged. Is it possible that something is wrong with BIOS.Can SomeOne Hack or Change or miess with BIOS.Is there any Bug in New BIOS.Since Event Viewer pointing toward BIOS, IRQ etc something like this-->IRQARB: ACPI BIOS does not contain an IRQ for the device in PCI slot 12, function 0.Please contact your system vendor for technical assistance. Note: If Someone told that to reset the BIOS password open the and discharge the CMOS battry. Wrong.Try to update BIOS, your password will be reset automatically.)If updates can change or reset the BIOS password then may be Some Virus can do the same. NOw Plz help How to bring back My old BIOS.I Tried These ALL Works But againg after few 15 min it disappears. Same think with webcam Bit it never appear. In Device Manager there is a Unknown Device In place of WebCam (near USB hub)
I want you to physically remove your DVD rom for your unit - locking screw located in the belly area with a sort of clock symbol - under power hit ejest to open the dvd drawer - then with the screw removed & unit powered off gently pull the dvd unit out then power the unit on - you'll most likely find the webcam will be ok. It's called and ECD502 device access error. there is a firmware and bios fix for your unit on the HP.COM website.
