I have a Casio PCR-T290, and I am having problems setting a department key to $0.00. Is this really not possible? if it is possible, how do I do it? Thanks

You turned the key before you finished in another mode. The register is telling you to go back and finish what you started. For those of you with this problem, turn the key until you find a mode that doesn't give the error. This is the mode that you started working in but didn't finish. Now press subtotal. now press cash. You will have finished anything you started so now you can turn the key. you're welcome.
Per the instructions on the Casio4Business Support website, you can do the following:
PCR 308, 350, 355, 408, 450
TO PROGRAM STATUS OF DEPARTMENT KEYS:
1. TURN KEY TO Z MODE
2. PRESS SUBTOTAL
3. PRESS 02 FOR TAX TABLE 1, 04 FOR TAX TABLE 2, 06 FOR BOTH TAX TABLES, AND 00 FOR NO TAX
4. PRESS DEPARTMENT KEY
5. REPEAT STEPS 3 & 4 FOR MULTIPLE DEPTS.
6. PRESS SUBTOTAL
Turn the key to PGM mode.
Type the new price without decimal point e.g 500
Press the dept key (item) you want to change.
Press SUBTOTAL
Turn key back to REG and test it.
