Hearing impaired is usually referred to as "closed captioning" or "CC"

try going into the on screen menu and turning the hearing impaired mode.off

One way, (maybe not the best) is if you turn your TV off, the voice should turn off also. Another way is to mute, a visually impaired voice is just the volume on you TV, or do you mean hearing impaired?

Turn on the SAP. Refer its user manual for details.

Generally, remote controls for DVD systems have a button labeled "Audio". This button changes which audio track you will hear during the movie. Common tracks include English, French, Spanish, Commentaries, and occasionally Audio for the Hearing Impaired.

It seems odd for the latter audio track to be default, but clicking the Audio button until you have the plain English track should work. I would consult the manual if you have it on hand to see if your system is capable of remembering which track to start on.

If you are using a cable box, then the closed captioning is turned on & off with the cable box, not with the TV remote.
