There is usually a regulator where the air coupling is. if not, just add one with some simple fittings and a regulator you can find at home depot in tool dept.

I have 2month old a paasche d500sr air compressor suddenly wont build up any airpressure

there can be several reasons - but first check connectors if there is lose connection and therefore loss of air and pressure.

if there is no pressure at all from outlet:

1. switch on the compressor
2. open drain valve and check for airflow (this is this small nut on the bottom of clear bit),

if there is airflow:
1. close drain valve
2. remove air hose from outlet and check for airflow
3. lift regulator valve and screw it back to minimum (anticlockwise), value on the gauge should be 0 (zero)
3. lift regulator valve and now open it (turn clockwise) in full, check for airflow,

if there is no flow, now, that suggest regulator assembly is at fault, to confirm:

1. switch off the compressor
2. remove drain and regulator assembly (you will be left with hole directly above membrane)
3. switch on compressor - check for airflow, if there is no airflow now (without regulator assembly), it meant that valve is gone

as in both cases (valve and regulator assembly) compressor is still under warranty, return to the point of purchase and they will either repair or replace the unit, if you desperately need to airbrush - just pump tractor or other tyre insert with "normal" compressor and then use this air to pressurise your airbrush.

Almost no air will come out of brush, very hard to blow through line

do solve problem by elimination:

1 disconnect pressure regulator from supply, start compressor and check for air flow, if flow is good, switch off
2. connect pressure regulator and start compressor, if it is equipped with automatic stop/start check cut off by closing valve in full, if it is without automatic stop/start then open slowly valve and check for air flow, if it increases - no problem there either, switch off
3. connect your hose to the outlet and switch compressor on, you should have similar pressure on the end of the hose as it was after regulator. if pressure is much lower - check for blockage in the hose, maybe gasket or something in the tube, cheap and nasty hoses have tendency to "k i n k" (this common english word describing twist in hose preventing liquid or gas flow is regarded as profanity by fixya - stupidity is without borders...) and puncture, clean or replace the hose, i use on some of my airbrushes these little lines from surgery (blood transfusion, oxygen, aquarium air, they are perfect! and - much cheaper - mostly for free than special airbrush lines).
4. check flow on airbrush, on fully open valve should be not much less than it was coming from regulator, if there is little or no flow, increase flow on the piece, it have usually depending on the type needle regulator on the valve.

hope this short instruction will help you, enjoy your art and if you find it useful, feel free to vote for it...

Won't spray

There are a lot of variables while airbrushing. If you are having trouble with a new airbrush(or one that isn't hugely gunked up) you likely need to do 1 or both of the following to get it to spray the paint:
1) Thin your paint, use the correct medium based on the paint type. Water can be used to thin water-based paints but too much will result in a bad coat and finish. You are looking for a milk-slightly thicker than milker consistency.
2) Crank up the air through the airbrush. Assuming you have a regulator you may need to turn the pressure up to get thicker paints to spray. If you are using a siphon feed you may need a couple extra PSI to recoup for what you are losing from the syphon. Make sure to check the max pressure your airbrush can handle before cranking it too high(most can handle at least 30 PSI).
Hope this helps.

It says its good for airbrushing, but i cant figure out how to keep air pressure from going past 40, it goes to 100

you need to adjust the air regulator it has a black knob and there should be a pressure gauge on the regulator just pull up on the knob and then turn it counter clockwise and watch the gauge

where the air comes out of the tank. put in a T ee
attach the relief valve to one side. on the other side will be your auto shut off / regulator unit.
make sure your relief valve and your auto shut off sencing unit are installed upstream from any regulating device.

Does this dental air compressor have a oil pressure safety switch?if so, where is it located? can I find a wiring diagram

Air compressors are designed to operate many different tools. The value of a commercial air compressor is many times greater than the purchase price because of the amount of work a single air compressor can perform. Dental air compressors are some of the most reliable because of the high-quality air they supply and precision tools they operate. As a result, dental air compressors can be adapted for a number of different tasks, including artistic air brush painting
1.Disconnect the air compressor from the dental tool air supply. Pressure and air supply rate-of-flow settings are different for air brush painting than for air delivery for dental tools.
2.Reset the air pressure on the tank to a range between 15 and 20 pounds per square inch (psi). The exact operating pressure for airbrush painting will vary, depending on the application and the type of paint used.
3.Reconnect an air-supply hose and a siphon style airbrush to the compressor.
4.Fill the airbrush's paint vile with lacquer-based paints. Test the air brush and paint performance on a piece of cardboard, or scrap piece of cloth
material before beginning the painting project. Every time the air compressor is connected to airbrush, or a new paint color is loaded into the brush, a short test spray should be performed. After each test adjust the air volume, and the paint flow in the gun to achieve the desired results8_16_2012_1_32_17_am.jpg
