Code 18.88 on clock. light on . Did not brew. Unplugged and now light will not go on. Nothing happens. Model: DCC1200
It might be dead, but...
Here is the basic troubleshooting for the Cuisinart coffee makers:
Make sure all baskets are in proper place - especially if unit is beeping.
Do not use a paper and a gold-tone or other permanent filter at the same time.
Unplug for LONGER THAN 15 full minutes to reset.
Clean by brewing 2 oz of distilled white vinegar/2 oz water.
If these methods fail, the unit probably requires replacement - call Cuisinart as they have a longer-than-standard warranty.

Unplug the coffeemaker for 20 minutes or longer - not a second less - in order to fully reset it. Then, when you plug it back in, turn the function dial to Clock again. Press and hold the HR button for a few seconds, and then set the hours. It should work now unless it got zapped, as you said.

SOURCE: A couple of days ago, coffee maker turned it self
spoke w/ Cuisinart. Unplug unit for 1 hr, then plug back in, reset clock & Auto Off setting. This resets the unit back to the factory settings.
