Question about Mitsubishi WD-52525 52" Rear Projection HDTV

1 Answer

We had a power flicker and now the timer light is blinking fast. In the past, when this happened I would unplug the TV, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in. The timer light would blink quickly for a minute and then stop, and everything would be fine. Today, nothing seems to make the timer light stop blinking, including a system reset.

The Chassis Assy must be sent to Mitsubishi for them to refurbish. Most of the time it is caused by many Capacitors throughout several circuits have failed. It is not a repair to do yourself. If you call Mitsubishi at 1800-332-2119 they can refer a Service Facility to you. They will need to come out, remove the Chassis send it to Mitsubishi and install it when it is shipped back. It usually cost around 850.00 to 950.00 to get it done.
Hope this helps,

I WAS WATCHIN TV THE OTHER NIGHT AND ALL OF A SUDDEN THE TV TURNED ITSELF OFF AND THE LITTLE GREEN LIGHT IN FRONT STARTED FLASHING VERY FAST -SO I UNPLUGGED MY TV AND THEN PLUGGED IT BACK IN AND THE GREEN...

Some of these sets if you unplug them---The green power light will blink for about 70 seconds before it stops--this is normal as the receiver unit in this set is booting up. Wait for the light to stop blinking and then the set should turn on. Some of these sets develop a problem where the light never stops blinking--usually the receiver is now bad--very expensive to get fixed.

I do this here for free so if this helps you give me a vote here.

Fast Blinking Timer Light

If the timer light blinks at the same rate all the time...then the problem could be fairly serious (the tv won't start up). If the blinks are NOT consistent..then count them...it is an error code for service personnel. Try resetting the tv or plugging it out. Wait. Then plug it back in (resets the tv) and see what happens.

RCA HDTV model#HD52W59. When I turn the power on it stays on for a few seconds and then goes off by itself.

TV turns off unexpectedly
• Sleep timer may have been activated.
• Electronic protection circuit may have been activated because of a power surge. Wait 30 seconds and then turn on again. If this
happens frequently, the voltage in your house may be abnormally high or low.
• Unplug the TV. Wait ten minutes. Then, plug the TV in again.
