Check the drive between the motor and the drum for the spin/drain cycle. Also check the cam sequencer to make sure that power is being transmitted to the motor at the right time.

My 15 year old Whirlpool washing machine did'nt agitate or drain, could it be the motor? If so, how do you access the motor?

Look for a broken lid switchthemobilian_1922.jpgAll the models over the years have changed the way you get into the machines but the basic concept is the same. The cabinet is removed to access and service this washerthemobilian_1923.jpgthemobilian_1924.jpgthemobilian_1926.jpgthemobilian_1925.jpg

Drain and spin is in the same direction on these washers.
It won't spin with lid open. Newer models won't spin or wash either with the lid open.
Basically the lid switch has a green ground wire and 2 hot wires. themobilian_49.gif
Jump them 2 hot wires as shown here at the quick connect to look for leaks and noises AND to see if the lid switch has failed.

My washing machine fails to drain

This could be a bad lid switch. A bad lid switch will allow the washer to fill and agitate but when it comes time to drain and spin it will prevent it from doing this. Check the lid switch.

My machine agitate but will not drain or spin --the timer was replaced --the lid switch was replaced. kenmore direct drive. 5 or 6 years old .-----series not known.

If the lid switch and the timer were replaced, the only possibilities left are the motor (or motor switch) and clutch... And there's a tiny possibility that the transmission has failed...

Won't spin, makes clunking noise, drains fine

If it agitates fine , with normal noise , drains with lid closed , then the problem is probably the transmission .

Kenmore washing machine 80 Series 110 20802 990 Will not agitate or spin"

You need to replace the Kenmore Washer Lid Switch. I had the same problem so being lazy I would just push down on the washer's lid and it would push the lid switch further down. making the water drain. after a while I just replaced the lid switch.

Kenmore washer will not spin or drain water, agitate works fine

Sounds like a lid switch. there should be a hole under the lid on the right side about the size of a dime. Make sure the plastic "flipper" is inside and "clicks" when you push down on it with a pen.

Kenmore 70 series 110 washer won't drain or spin, but agitates

You have a broken lid switch. Check to see if the switch is broken off of the two screws that hold it under the lid. If it is, get a new one, take off the case and replace old switch with the new one.

Kenmore washer 80 series 110 model not spinning.

unless your washer is over 20 years old, then it wont have a belt. the temperature of the water wont have anything to do with it spinning or not.
need to know if it agitates or drains and just wont spin.
if it agitates but no spin or drain, then you have a bad lid switch.
if it wont agitate or spin, but will drain, then you have a broken drive coupling.

Spin cycles not spinning, does drain water before spin

check the wig-wag.it is the part near the cam bar.has 2 coils on it. also check the yellow wire going to the solenoid it may look ok but could be broke internally.
