Question about Peg Perego John Deere Gator HPX Ride on Toy
After a 1 1/2 yrs the Gator did not run as fast as it did at first and on occasions had a burning smell. We bought a new battery and she drove it 2 times around the house and it quit. Tore it apart and got it to run on high speed only. Called Peg-Perego and they ran through a test of: unplug the working motor wires and connect it to the other motor on opposite wheel. It didn't work, so they said that, the motor that didn't run was bad. So, bought a new motor. Hooked it all up and she drove it for about 5 minutes. Started smelling the burning again and the whole thing stopped. The battery plug was hot and the thermo fuse did not trip. Called Peg and ShopJandL and they have no idea what is wrong. I went ahead and ordered a whole shift kit with wires. Anyone have any ideas?
It sounds like it may need a new wire assembly.
I bought mine here
and they also helped me with my other ride on toys.
My grand children have several of these so we are always getting parts for them.
hope this helps
