Hi Jo, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC33 offers a high level of filtration, and the issue of dirt escaping from around the seals between parts would be very unusual. It's possible your machine has been damaged in some way, or that some parts are not correctly assembled.

To help you resolve this we would need to take some additional details, and to talk you through some simple troubleshooting checks when you have your machine easily to hand. If a repair or a replacement part is needed, we'll also be able to confirm whether this is covered under the free Dyson parts and labour guarantee.

When convenient, please give the Dyson Customer Helpline a call on 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) 1800 239 766 (AU), or 0800 298 0298 (UK).

We'll look forward to speaking with you.

I would use an air compressor then, if you don't have one, see if a friend has one or possible you can rent one if you really can't find one, that is what we use

How to clean dyson dc 33 filters

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson.

DC33 has two washable filters, engineered to last the lifetime of the machine in normal use. These should be washed at least once every 3 months using cold water without detergent. Allow at least 24 hours for both filters to dry completely before replacing them.

Our online Support guide will walk you through each step: http://www.dyson.co.uk/support/dc33/dc33-multi-floor/dc33-maintaining-your-dyson-machine/wash-the-filters/filter-removal-step-1

I hope this helps, but if you'd like any further advice from our experts you're welcome to give us a call on 0800 298 0298 (UK), 1-866-693-9766 (US), 1-877-397-6622 (CA) or 1800 239 766 (AU).

Squeeling noise dyson 33

Is it when you go from carpet to floor or floor to carpet? It will make a loud noise detecting a possible suction issue. I've also had loud noises and turned over the vacuum and where the brush is, traps hair, thread, rubber bands, etc. Just take a scissor and cut it all out. Don't cut the bristles. Roll the brush as you cut and pull all the stuff wrapped around the brush. Once it is free, try it again.

I have a dyson animal d17 i have taken apart completly and cleaned all filters and clogs and i still have little to no suction and wont turn on in the upright position

With no suction you should check the venturis. They can become clogged if you suck up wet dust, wet cat litter, etc. You\'ll need a Torx Screwdriver to get it apart. See where that gets you.

Dust goes to filter

is the canister sealing properly? The air enters the canister under high pressure and it should slow down greatly in there so the heavier (dust) particles will fall to the bottom of the canister and the air should then pass through the filter under a reduced pressure. If the air is easily escaping the canister area without slowing down the dust cannot settle. It should look like a cyclone in the canister, if it's not swirling in one direction but rather bouncing around, look at the inlet to the canister for build up or an obstruction also. If the canister is not sealing the the air will remain moving rapidly and carry the dust along with it. I would also check your filter for a tare along the seam.

Suction weak, vacuum seal spring is releases

I would recommend checking the dyson vacuum brushroll first. If there is any hair or thread wrapped around it you are going to want to cut all of that free that way your brushroll can spin freely. I would also recommend checking the filter and washing or replacing that. On the DC 14 that is going to be on the top of the dust canister as well as under the canister if you lift it off of the unit.
