We replaced the spark plug - does that answer your first part? No idea on how fresh the gas is.

Needle valve and seat is the first place I would look. Sounds as though your needle valve is sticking in the carb. Since the needle valve and seat is the only way gas enters your engine, it fills the carb bowl, then because it's sticking/leaking, gas starts running into the engine.
Look for trash in the bowl when you remove the bowl. Shut off/drain the gas then pull the fuel line to the carb, pull the carb and spray some cleaner into the fuel inlet after you remove the float and needle valve.

My craftsman 32cc leaf blower won't stay running

Check age of gas. Cannot be more than 30 days old.
Make sure to use fresh gas w/synthetic 2-cycle oil @ 40:1 ratio (1 gal.) Gas to 3.2 oz. Oil). Do not use old or stale oil/gas mixture. Always use the proper oil/gas mix. If you do not, your engine will suffer rapid, permanent damage.May need to clean or replace carburetor.

Craftsman rider dlt 3000 throwinng gas out muffler won't start can anyone help.

Turn off fuel and do not try to start because it can shear flywheel key or catch fire.It sounds as if the float needle is not seating {closing}properly and must be cleaned or needle/seat replaced.Check to see if fuel has raised oil level on dipstick,if so you must change oil as well as the oil filter.

Starting motor ok, but sounds liKE starter bad!!

Hello beadingblond:

>>Check the Valve Clearances. If the Valve Clearances are Not Correct the Compression Release Does Not Operate as Designed and the Starter will seem to be Dragging.
>>Also, Is the Crankcase Oil Overfilled and Contaminated with Gas?
