Sounds like you will need to format the memory card. This will permanently erase all the data from the card and then you will be able to use it again. This will clear the write protect message and the card can be used again.

When I turn on camera it comes up Write Protect. Won't let me erase or take photos.

You didn't give the model of your Olympus camera so I'll assume it uses SD cards.

SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

HOW TO TURN OFF THE WRITE PROTECT ON MY FE 5020 OLYMPUS

Remove the memory card from the camera, look for a small switch on the one side, the switch that is furthest from the contacts is in the unlock position "write protect removed" but if it's closest to the contact it is in the locked position "write protect inforced" if you find the switch in the proper position, "slide it back and forth to clean the contacts" if that fails replace the memory card.

There is probably a setting on your camera that prevents you from writing to the card. There may also be a switch on the card that prevents the card from being written to.
