From what you have described you need to replace the door light switch on your Frigidaire freezer. In order to assist you further I would need your model number. You can locate your serial tag (which lists your model number) on the inside wall of your freezer. I look forward to assisting you. -Matt
Hello Oran - Typically error code F7 on Frigidaire freezer indicates that the unit has detected a stuck key or fail safe mode initiated. Check if it has a thermistor failure and may possibly need to replace the main control board. Contact a professional to move forward accurately.
Both light flickering probably indicates a problem with the plug or the cord. If it was just the inside light I would suspect the door switch, but both light would indicates an open short in the wires or plug.
Check the plug connection at the wall and see if it is loose. While unplugged check the cord for any nicks or cuts. Plug something else into the same wall receptacle , like a light and see if the power to the receptacle is ok.
If none of the above work then it is time for a qualified repair person.
Click Here for your user manual=> MQU1556AEW.pdf The settings for defrost should come automatically every 12 hours. You may test the defrost timer that appears to be behind the kick plate at base and front bottom of refrigerator by removing the kick plate first and using a flathead screwdriver turn slowly clockwise until compressor stops. After a few minutes you should be able to hear a crackling noise or sizzle by opening the door and listening. Leave the timer like that for up to 35 minutes and if the freezer does not start on its own the the timer is not working properly and will need replaced. before you replace the thermometer, check the probe placement. If its near the door entrance, the lights, or any other source of heat when the door is opened, then it may not need to be replaced.
Excess frost especially near the door is caused by door gaskets being bad. The gasket should hold a dollar bill snug.
Another possibility is auto defrost failure. - Remove the cover on the rear inside the freezer to see if the coils are heavily iced.
