ok but the heading of your post says "generic problem for printers", do u understand the confusion on my part? anyway the power button on your unit is no more than a momentary ground circuit that tells a small IC circuit to "boot" up the machine for use, just like a computer does, the problem is that the circuit that actually turns the machine on is defective, when u disconnect the system power you reset everything and it works, this is common with solid state circuit failures, you will need to have the the unit repaired as there is no external fix for this problem.

Fan buttons work the light. Light button does nothing. No button causes fan to operate. What's wrong?

If there are pull-chain switches on the fixture, their operation may have caused remote control to fail. Turn off power at the source, pause for a few minutes, and turn on power. Either fan or light control, or both, may work. If not, you will have to figure out which pull-chain operation makes things right again. To avoid future problems, disconnect the pull chains at the link so only the remote controls operation.

Unit in room displays fault code -0 and 6. Unit is a Sharp eco inverter AY-XP07ER. Unit runs for a few minutes and cuts out showing fault code.

Do not allow the signal receiver window to receive strong direct sunlight, since it can adversely affect its operation. If the signal receiver window is exposed to direct sunlight, close a curtain to block the light.

Using a Fluorescent lamp with a quick starter in the same room may interfere with transmissions of the signal.

The unit can be affected by signals transmitted from the remote control of a television vcr or other equipment used in the same room so make sure if anything recently added to the room is un plugged for testing purposes.

Do no leave the remote control in direct sunlight or near a heater also protect the unit and remote control from moisture and shot which can disclour or damage them.

Check whether the remote control batteries have become old and weak. (replace with new ones)

Try to send the signal again with the remote control pointed properly towards the units signal receiver window

Check whether the remote control batteries are installed with the polarites properly aligned

This could also be a result of the error locking out the remote as well so keep this in mind.

Also if possible unplug it and let it sit for atleast a day then plug it into a different outlet (if possible) to see if there is any change in the units functionality.

After that I would have to say check the area around the base of it and make sure that there is no moisture damage to the unit.

A good cleaning could be in order as well.

then if all else fails and the error presists contact customer service with the issue of the machine they will know what the error codes are.

hope that helps let us know how you make out.

What remedy to turn the unit operational

Check the batteries of your remote control, replace the batteries, press power button. You should hear a click from the unit. If no sound from the unit, check if there is power going to your unit. If no power, reset the breaker by pulling the handle to off position and then switch it on. For disconnect switch replace the fuse and then switch it in on position.

Amplifier will not turn on, from front panel or remote.

Suspect this is a protective feature of the unit. If the feature is malfunctioning, the amp will have to be repaired. To troubleshoot, try disconnecting everything including power and allow the unit to sit for a few minutes. Then plug in power and turn the unit on. If it powers up, it would appear the problem is related to a wire or connected device.

Operating instructions for EM-2R power meter. it has 3 plug-in sender units with remote reader. How do I resynch the senders and reader after replacing battery in reader? Cheers DaveK

I have what appears to be the same device. My instructions list the following method:
1. turn off or disconnect all the remote monitors.

Use the code button on the display module to set the channel. It displays 1 --:-- for channel 1.

Plug in the first remote sensor into the power outlet and press and hold down the SET button until the LED flashes.

The receiver will show numbers where the dashes were in the display.

Change the channel on the receiver to 2 withb the code button, it displays 2 --:--.

Plug in the second remote sensor, press the set button till the LED flashes.

Repeat for channel 3 with the third remote sensor.

This is the same method used to set them up the first time. Having to turn off or unplug the device is the unintuative bit. I assumed it would reconnect after replacing the batteries.

After motor work starter runs when power applied

sounds like starter solenoid is staying energized sending continued power to starter. need to make sure you plugged the right wire from the starter button and not another hot wire w/ fulltime hot. also if thats ok need to test for power turning off to solenoid when releasing button. if thats ok try tapping on solenoid. lastly, make sure your positive cable from battery is hooked to starter solenoid, then another hot cable(longer) hooks from solenoid to starter, if you hook long hot cable directly from starter to battery, starter will continueous spin.

Power off and on again and then no sound present

i assume pressing the source button on the remote control is how you normally turn it on again, (ie video FM CD etc)

it might be that moving the unit to the cabinite the battery power in the remote ( its not infra red its radio wave thay are not picked up by the fm antenna ) is insufficient to wake it up again,
change the batteries in the remote or try to see if there is some weird reason the cabinet is preventing these remote control radio waves from being recieved by the head unit, try opening the door and bring the remote within a few inches of the head unit and see if it turns on when you pres the cd button.

see how you go from there mate
