Question about Shop Vac 925-09-62 QSP Plus Wet/Dry Vacuum

Shop Vac not working well

The sucking power of my shop vac has greatly diminished. I changed the bag and the filter, but it has not improved.

It sucks but not very well. The "engine" seems to have normal power; it just isn't transferring the energy into the sucking action.

Thanks for the help.

Re: Shop Vac not working well

The only thing after the filter and bag is the motor. Do you have suction with the hose removed? If not then the hose is clogged. If you have some, then the motor is the problem.

Can you disconnect the hose from both ends of the unit?
I generally push a broom handle down a clogged hose, and second broom handle if needed!

You can also attach a shop vac hose to the shop vac exhaust and blow it out using the exhaust of the shop vac.

Maybe you sucked up a dryer sheet or plastic bag. Empty the unit completely and look at all the possible portals where items have to travel through.

I just had the same problem, the vac wouldn't suck in. Turned out to be because the filter was WET. It works great when I take the filter off before sucking up water or liquids! Not sure if this applies in your case, but definitely something to keep in mind. : )

Electrolux Model 2100 vacuum won't work

hi from uk may i suggest you remove cover and the new dust collection bag then if you look in the bag compartment there is a gauze filter fitted usually grey in colour ? at opposite end of compartment where bag connects this gauze filter is the outlet from bag compartment that the air exhales when vac is operating ie as vac **** up dust into bag the bag has microscopic holes that allow sucked up air and dust to collect but keeps dust from passing into bag chamber but allows air to escape thro holes and so enter bag chamber then escapes via the gauze filter to outside of vac hope you follow this ?? now if this filter is blocked/never been cleaned/changed ? then the symptoms of indicator bag full light will come on you can remove and wash filter if it is gauze typ? dry and refit then try vacuuming ? or replace filter they are not expensive usually in pack of 3 in uk DO NOT RUN VAC WITHOUT THIS FILTER FITTED ! or you will have some dust in the room ? hope this helps?

Shop vac sucks water for a few seconds then it spits it back out

Don't use the paper filter for sucking water. It can ruin it. It will still be usable if you just set it out to dry but there is no reason to use it for water in my experience. I have a sears shop vac and it will fill up more than half full without ejecting the water.

I sucked up a dusing cloth with my ducted vacuum cleaner and now it does not **** at all. Help can not afford a three hundred dollar bill.

Please elaborate on the problem in detail.. Your vacuum sucked up a 'dusting cloth" ? Your description of a 'ducted vacuum' implies it is a central vac system that true? If not please explain what you are using? The more details the more likely I can help...

I would advise you to ALWAYS to FIRST UNPLUG YOUR VACUUM before beginning any service procedure. Not knowing the brand name and model # of which we like to know so I can direct you in the right way, the 3 things that you need to do is to change the belt every 4 to 6 months for the best cleaning, check the brushroll and the bearing ends, some have the bearing holder of NEW or OLD and both should be the same if the bristles are long enough to hit the carpet, if not you may have adjustment screws, also to change the vacuum bag or to clean the filter if it is a HEPA filter, and one more thing check for a vacuum clog. For the next question, please include the brand name and model # with your question. So if you need further assistance, please feel free to contact your local vacuum cleaner dealer in your area or in the yellow pages, or contact the factory phone number or website to further assist you with your questions.

The store you bought your vac from should have bags for it. Alot of stores and Sew and Vac stores carry a large variety of bags, you will have to shop or call around. A repair shop should be able to order them if need be. You should change bags when they are maybe 3/4 full. The fuller they get, the suction will decrease and make the motor have to work too hard. Also check your filters, change them if they look bad.
