My prosine 1800 inverter just quite. I am guessing I overloaded it with my air conditioner and upon turning the inverter on,..it stopped working. There are no display codes in the digital display which appears normal. input voltage is 12.9 and all wires rechecked and confirmed. Even the cooling/thermal fan comes on,...just no out put alternating current,...ZERO

Hello,

You may be correct that you have overloaded the system. There is a fuse inside the unit that may be replaced. I would advise a qualified technician to do internal work on the device. A "LittelFuse" rated at 225 Amps serves as the protector of the circuit and should be the first one to go if there is a surge that would exceed the unit's running capacity. if replacement of the fuse did not work, the damage may also be on the internal components and the damage was beyond the fuse's capacity.

Are you getting a fault code (e.g. E01, E02)? You have to make sure that the battery is fully charged. There are lots of possible cause why there's no voltage output, here are the things:

1. Low Input Voltage (fault code E02).
2. High Input Voltage (fault code E03).
3. Thermal shutdown (fault code E08).
4. Unit Overload (fault code E05).
5. Short circuited output (fault code E05).

Check the link below and click on 'Troubleshooting' and you will see the meaning of the Fault Codes:

Check the link below and you'll find some wiring diagram:

Hope these helps and have a great day!

Lynn-- I don't understand what you're trying to do. The Xantrex Statpower Prosine 1800 GFCI 24V 806-1850 is an electrical power supply inverter, designed to convert (usually) battery power (direct current) to house power (alternating current). How is an address applicable to this function?

This is a know and widespread problem with the Prosine 2.0, yet when you call Xantrex, they want to charge you to return, repair and/or replace the remote panel. Shame on you Xantrex.

Xantrex Prosine 1800i "DCDC Shutdown" when connecting AC Load

Hi Schnupfy,

Well, it may be advertised as 1800 watts, but that is a peak. While the 230 VAC may be dead on target, don't expect it to run a mig welder.

Sustained high output is totally dependent upon the power source. What it's doing is protecting itself. DCDC Shutdown indicated 'An overload or system Fault'

Possible problems that would cause this:

  • The load is too high (what is the load?)
  • The power source is intermittent or weak
  • The power source is run through a distribution panel or isolator (Voltage drop)
  • The wiring from the 12VDC source is too long for the gauge used
Click here for a PDF copy of the manual. It is quite well documented.

BEST REGARDS,
MIKE

My prosine 2.5 charger inverter intermittent

First try blowing it out the unit with compressed air to see if there is large amounts of accumulated dirt inside, look for black soot on the center of the air outlet side.

Intermittent problems are the hardest to troubleshoot.
