Unfortunately, if all the fuses are good - there is no end-user quick fix. Professional repair will be required.
If you have verified 12vdc at the Constant and Switched wire - there is nothing more you can do.

Please accept this answer to remove it from the work queue.

What could be done is to leave the set Switched ON for many hours even overnight and see how it can change if there is a possible fault on the motherboard, a change of value in electrolytic capacitors.
If there is no result then there is fault in the motherboard and you need to take consensus for an estimate.

I have a 2005 Ford Freestar Van. The DVD player just quit working, appears it may not be getting any power to it. The manual doesnt have anything about the dvd player even being in the van. I was going to...

The manual shows several fuses for the radio/tape/cd players.
It doesn't show anything for a dvd player but i would think it would use the same power feed as the other. In thepassenger compartment take a look at fuse number 5 and 11 and 20. if they are all ok then in the power distribution box under the hood look at fuse number 56, 59 and 62. Fuse number 62 is the listed as the dvd fuse. However the systems use multiple fuses so that parts of have power all the time, Such as the clock and alarm systems must have power all the time in order to work.
Now not all of the fuses I have listed may be being used but these are all the ones listed for all the different sound systems used.
If all the fuses are good you may have to remove the player and look for a manual release to open it.

Dvd dvd door will not stay closed. tried turning off and on multiple times. just keeps popping open.

Hello,

Reset your player. Press and hold the FF and RW buttons at the same time on the main unit itself for 5 secs. Afterwards, unplug the player from the power source and let it sit unplug for a minute. Plug it back in to the power source and turn it on.

If its still the same issue,I just want to inform you that your unit laready needs service for repair.

You should take firt a voltimeter and test for 5 and 12 volts at power input to de HD,(pluged to the wall) as some times is the power with has been fried...if so test diodes first and transformers then (unpluged from the wall...) if not ok and you do not know how to fix the power source take it to an electronic shop and they will perform a standard repair as it is only a power source......

Unit only displays "hello"

This is a faulty condition caused by lack of error control in the firmware. Try this:

Unplug machine from wall for 5 min. Hold "open/close" button in and then plug machine into mains whilst continuing to hold the open/close button. Keep holding open/close button for about a minute, as these machines are notoriouly slow to "boot". It that doesn't work, repeat the procedure, but hold down the power button instead of the open/close button in an attempt to reset the memory settings of the unit. Good luck.

If unit is still under warranty return it. If unit is still sold at the orginal place of purchase buy another and return the first one stating it wont work and get a refund
1) power source is good? (receptical on the wall or power unit. Locate DVD rec. to another receptical and check Rec. again)
2) power cord going to unit is good, no cuts or melted spots
3) power setting on unit is correct (small red slide type buttong for different country voltage settings)
4) internal fuse, change it even if it doesn't look bad.
5) Weigh the cost of a new one to the repair cost of the old one. If you buy a new one get a good brand RCA is still one of best and longest lasting.

Try a hard reset: unplug from power source, remove all cabling and wait for 5 minutes before recabling.

If that fails, it is a logic board error, in which case you are probably better off buying a new device..

Power problem.

1. Make sure the AC outlet is good.
2. Make sure there is no damage to the AC line cord.

3. Look to see if there is a fuse at the rear of the unit. It's usually located inside a black circular housing with a screw off cap that says "fuse".

If not, unplug the unit and remove the outside cover. Look for a blown fuse on the motherboard or power supply. Replace it with the EXACT value of the original fuse. You can purchase a new fuse at Radio Shack or hardware store or auto parts store. Try powering up the unit again and see if it works now or whether the fuse blows again. If it blows again, the power supply may have been damaged.

Please let me know if I can be of further assistance to you.

Good luck!
