Question about Apple iBook G3 Mac Notebook
I tried loading from the CD by holding down the "C" key when I hear the chime but I must have some major problems. You can hear the attempt to access the CD and the screen displays what appears to be he universal symbol to power on (circle with a vertical line extending out of the circle). This symbol is overwritten with text in 4 languages telling me hold down the power button for several seconds to restart. This symbol is also overwritten by a command screen. The last 3 lines are:
Darwin Kernel Version 8.4.1: Tue Jan 3 18:27:02 PST 2006:root:xnu-792.7.90.obj~1/RELEASE_PPC
panic: We are handing here...
I must have either major hardware problems since it won't let met boot from CD or major software problems.
FYI - I also ran a system check (Fsck) which displayed everything was OK. I am open to suggestions.
I am running off memory, but I belive you can also hold either Option or Command key at chime startup and it will give you a visual option with booting to hard drive or disk drive.
Try that and see if it will show the option to boot from CD.
I would suggest probably reinstalling OS X
